Sarah & Jordan In Missouri

The first thing you should know about us is when we love, we love hard, and we put our whole heart into everything we do. Jordan and I met online, which was extremely out of character for the both of us, but one of the best decisions we ever made. After talking for a bit, we decided to meet up and go on a date. We talked about so many things that night but the most memorable is we both said, “I don’t ever want to get married.” Spoiler alert, that didn’t last. After only a few short months of dating we both had decided this was something special and doing life without each other just wasn’t an option anymore. Six months later, on a birthday trip to Las Vegas with friends, we snuck off and minutes after telling our very surprised parents, we tied the knot and never looked back! We never thought such a big thing could be such an easy decision but here we are happy and so very much in love.

We both love adventure, seeing and experiencing new things whether that be just exploring Kansas City, where we live, or traveling with friends or family for the weekend. Jordan is very big into sports, in particular baseball, and even more in particular Royals baseball. We are season ticket holders and frequent a lot of games each year. We love listening to music and going to concerts. Kansas City is a lively city and is really growing into itself. There is always something new to do and go see.

When we aren’t going anywhere and just staying home, we love to hang out with our three dogs Toby, Gracie and Chomper. We love to play fetch and sit on our back patio listening to music. Jordan is an amateur BBQ master, or tries to be, so he loves trying new smoked meat recipes on the weekends.

We live in a quiet neighborhood in a three-bedroom, two-bath house. There are tons of kids in our neighborhood, and we live within walking distance to an elementary school and high school. We have a large fenced-in back yard to play in with lots of room to run. We also have a large, finished basement with darts and a big screen tv and comfy couch to cuddle up and have movie nights. We have a small nursery size room ready to decorate and waiting for our sweet little one. We live about 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City, Missouri, which always has something fun and exciting to see on the weekends.

Jordan has been blessed with a very large family. He Has one biological sister with four children, 3 girls and 1 boy, ranging from age 15 to age 5. He also has 5 step siblings with many kids of their own. Every time we go and visit his dad and stepmom, the house is full of younger and older grandchildren, so there is no shortage of playmates. Jordan's parents, Tim and Marcie and his stepmom, Bonnie are thrilled to welcome another little one to the family. All of his family lives a short 30 minutes away and can’t wait to meet their new grand baby. Coming from a small family, Sarah loves going to their huge family holiday parties. Seeing all the love and feeling so welcomed by them all makes the holidays feel so magical.

Sarah's family is a little more spread out but there is no shortage of love and excitement about a new baby. She has one sister living in Phoenix, Arizona and one sister who lives in Salem, Massachusetts. This distance has provided opportunities to travel and see all the fun places in two completely different parts of the country. Both of her parents are still close by in Kansas City and are very excited to spoil their first grandbaby!

We consider our friends our second family. Sarah's two very best friends, Chelsea and Jennifer have families with young children and are both married to two of the best guys. We spend holidays, birthdays, and even take vacations together and have loved watching their children grow up. We are even lucky enough to be the Godparents to Jennifer's youngest daughter, Nova (3). Jordan also has two very best friends, Cody and Clint. Cody has two children (both teenagers) and is married to his husband, Dakota. Clint has no children and lives with his wonderful girlfriend, Andy. We love going to games with both Cody and Clint and always have a blast hanging with them.

Our infertility journey started with me knowing I’m diabetic with PCOS, so the first step was trying to manage my conditions with pregnancy safe medication. After over a year of trying to regulate my blood sugar to even have a chance to conceive, we decided the safest way for me and for a child was to let someone else take the driver's seat and adopt. Once we made that decision everything felt like this was the way we were intended to do things.
