Dear Birthmother,

Thank you so much for taking the time to consider us and for making the difficult personal choice to give the gift of life and family to whichever hopeful parents you choose. We are Brenda and Krista in Texas. We have been working with fertility specialists for 7 years trying to get pregnant ourselves more than 25 times with no success. We are very enthusiastic about starting our family and sharing our world with children (we pray for more than 1 so they can grow up together) and future generations. We have so much love and happiness to give, and you would be blessing us with the most precious gift imaginable! We can't imagine how worried you are, but we are so excited to meet you and pour our love onto baby. Thank you again for considering us!

About Us

We are a married, same-sex female couple living in central Texas. We met online 11 years ago (2012), when Krista messaged Brenda after viewing Brenda's profile pictures that showed common interests such as riding dirt motorbikes, travel, camping, family gatherings, first responder experience, etc. It was clear that we were both adventurous, driven and had medical interests. We were drawn to each other since we first started talking and dating in New York City, and ultimately got married 9 years ago (2014).

Krista works from home as an Applications System Analyst for a company that provides robotics and software for pharmacies worldwide. Brenda works as an Emergency Room Doctor since graduating medical school in 2012 and loves her job helping people during their worst hours and emergency situations.

We both love to travel to unique places, both domestically and abroad at least once per year. We also recently started building our dream home (with plenty of room for kids) on our family's 34-acre property that includes an entire valley in central Texas. We love working outside and spend a lot of time making improvements on our land and spending time with visiting extended family from all over the US. When not working on our land, Krista spends time wood working and making epoxy tables out of fallen tree limbs. Brenda spends time fixing cars, hiking, and looking for arrowheads. During the summer, we both enjoy relaxing and occasionally fishing and swimming from our boat at the lake.

We both have a strong sense of family and understand the importance of enjoying today, but also planning for tomorrow. We have been blessed with so many gifts in life and want to share our lives and blessings with future generations. We are both the youngest of 3 siblings in our families and understand the importance of having siblings your age to bond with and grow up with. Ultimately, we would like to adopt 2-3 children close in age so they can play and grow together. As children, we want them to have playmates, but as adults, we want them to have a brother or sister to tackle life challenges with. We would love to have grandchildren someday and hope for them to have siblings and cousins of their own. We want to raise responsible adults with self-confidence, happiness, strong morals, and a strong work ethic so they can be successful in whatever life path they choose. We value family, education, honesty, and life experiences.

Our Home

Our city is a melting pot of cultures and people but is predominately Hispanic and Caucasian. We have a very large population of military personnel with multiple bases in the area. The surrounding area is rapidly expanding. Our city is only minutes away from multiple famous Hill Country area tourist attractions and beautiful state parks. We are currently renting a 3-bedroom home while our forever home is under construction (it will be complete by mid-2024).

Our new 4 bedroom/ 2.5 bath single story home is under construction in a more rural area (it borders the city limit) about 30 mins away from our rental home. Our new home will have a pool, is 30 mins from downtown, 8 mins from the grocery store, 20 mins from a large lake, and is part of one of the best school districts in the state. Our quiet country road is a great place to go for a walk and feel like you are in the country without being too far away from city amenities. We know most of our neighbors already and have a great mix of young families and older couples from diverse backgrounds and professions. We have a yearly potluck dinner to meet new people and have a neighborhood email list to keep everyone up to date on any events.

The school district of our future home is one of the highest ranking in the state with an average student to teacher ratio of 16-19 students per teacher (very good), has a 5-star accountability rating, and has excellent teacher retention with 53% having been there for more than 10 years.

Our Extended Family

We are both the youngest of 3 siblings in our families. Brenda’s sister is 3 years older, works as a hydrogeologist in New Mexico, is married with 3 school-age children, and frequently visit us and her in-laws in Texas. Brenda's brother is 1 year older, works as an engineer in Colorado, and is married with 4 school- age children. Brenda's parents have been married for 50 years, currently live 3 hours away, and plan to build a small house on the family property near ours. They love to travel internationally, visit their grandchildren, and work on the family property. Brenda has 6 aunts and uncles and a multitude of cousins.

Krista's sister is 10 years older, works in healthcare in North Carolina, and enjoys knitting, quilting, baking and cooking. We visit about once a year and talk often. Krista's brother is 8 years older, and works in construction in Pennsylvania. We try to visit once a year as well. Krista's father passed away when she was young. Krista's mother was a working, single mom and retired in Pennsylvania after more than 50 years of being a hairdresser and running her own beauty salon from her home. Krista's mom knew how to stretch a penny further than anyone, and taught Krista how to be confident and independent with a strong work ethic.

Our Family Traditions

We have both brought traditions and morals from our respective families and have created a few ourselves. During the spring or fall, Brenda’s family often rents a beach house and spends a few days enjoying the sand. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, we get together for a few days with as many family members as we can (usually in Texas). Krista is a Christmas fanatic, and we have a personal tradition of decorating our home and yard with as many lights and inflatables as possible! Brenda’s family is excellent about coordinating travel schedules with each other to maximize time together and are present for important events and, if needed, emergencies. We have personally adopted the traveling tradition and go on an out of state or international trip once a year.

What Led Us To Adoption

We tried for 7 years to have babies on our own. After several rounds of IUI, IVF, and donor eggs, we didn’t want to wait any longer to start our family. We have so much love and energy to share with our children and we can’t wait to get started
