Dear Birthmother,

We are Bec, Kat and Noah, and before anything else we want to thank you for considering making an adoption plan with us. We acknowledge, respect and empathize with the decision you are making and want you to know that we will support you in any way you need us to.

Our desire to expand our growing family through adoption remains the same. We relish the opportunity to give a child/children a life full of fun and adventure, unconditional love, emotional and financial support, a safe and stable home, broad education and a limitless future.

About Us

We are a happily married couple, both originally from the United Kingdom. We are now permanent residents of USA and are planning on getting our US citizenship in 2 years when we become eligible. We met in Brooklyn, NY where we were both volunteering for the same sporting organization and immediately became best friends. Our friendship inevitably led to romance, and we have been happily in love ever since.

In 2018, Bec moved to the USA permanently where we lived in New Jersey near the shore. Kat is the finance Vice President for an energy company where she and Bec are both heavily involved in their LGBTQ+ and other inclusivity groups. Bec is a physical education teacher, primarily working in middle and high schools but has also worked as a sports coach for children aged two through to adults for over 15 years.

In late 2021, we matched with our first birth mother who selflessly chose us to become parents to our son, Noah. Noah was born in early 2022 and since then has done nothing but made every aspect of our lives better.

We both come from large families and are excited and proud for our future children to grow up in an already very close and happy family surrounded by people who love and cherish them as much as we will.

We have a very active and adventurous life, spending a lot of time in nature hiking, biking, surfing, kayaking and exploring different countries, towns and cities. We love to expose ourselves to new cultures, traditions and foods; we believe in accepting everyone as they are. Neither of us take life too seriously and love to enjoy the simple things in life whilst laughing and enjoying every experience. We love to constantly learn and grow as people, and are keen members of sports teams, going to live sporting and music events, visiting museums, art galleries and botanical gardens.

We have discussed at length the morals and values we want to pass on to our children. First and foremost, we are a team that always have each other’s backs and are honest and open in our communication with each other. Kindness, compassion, honesty and finding the fun in everyday life are key to our family culture. Volunteering within our community and giving back to people less fortunate than us is extremely important to us and we will encourage our future children to be understanding and accommodating, kind and empathetic.

Our Home

We live in Dripping Springs which is just outside Austin, Texas. Dripping Springs is home to a highly rated school system and has several resident’s recreation facilities including pools, parks, and sports facilities.

Dripping Springs is part of Hays County which is one of the most diverse and growing counties in the USA. Everyone is welcome here irrespective of race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. It’s an area where differences are embraced, this was important to us when we chose the location of the home, we would grow our family in. We believe in acceptance and broad social integration and are excited to be part of such a vibrant community.

Our home has three bedrooms, a study, and a large open plan playroom which Noah loves plus a movie room. We are lucky enough to have a good-sized yard that backs onto a greenbelt with wonderful views of the Texas Hill Country whilst allowing us to play, learn and be surrounded by nature as a family.
The master suite is large with an adjacent nursery for use while the baby is young then when baby is old enough, they will have their own bedroom directly opposite Noah’s room, which we’re certain they’ll love!

Our Extended Family

We both come from large, close families. Kat has three sisters, and Bec has a younger brother. We both have a lot of aunties and uncles on every side of our maternal and paternal families along with cousins, nieces and nephews. Since Noah's birth, we have daily Facetime and Whatsapp calls so that we are still very present in each other's lives. We do virtual quizzes, movie viewings and birthday parties. We have a "fact off’ tradition" with our younger nieces where we must provide the best fact or riddle.

We frequently fly back to the UK where we spend our time visiting friends and families’ homes and our families come to stay with us every three months, so they are maintaining a good relationship with Noah and ourselves. Noah has already been on four flights and has enjoyed having both sets of his grandparents, uncles and guardians (god parents) in the USA for long periods of time.

Our Family Traditions

Bec's parents host Christmas Day and then Kat's parents always host Boxing Day (December 26th) which is another big family holiday in the UK. There will often be over 20 people gathered together on these days which are loud and raucous and everything a family day should be. Our parents spend time together as a foursome which helps solidify and strengthen familial bonds and ties.

We are close with Kat's cousins who have also adopted. They are a great source of support and understanding for us during this process. We are excited to be able to give our future child / children a life full of broad and global experiences, traditions and upbringings.

What Led Us To Adoption

Wanting to become parents and expand our family and give a child/ren a loving, happy life led us to adoption. We want to share the world and all its wonderful, diverse experiences and opportunities whilst providing a stable, loving and fun environment for a child/ren to grow in.
