Hi, I'm Megan. I cannot imagine how difficult of a decision it is for you to consider adoption for your baby. Words cannot express the amount of respect and admiration I have for you. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a mother. I have found success in my life with my job, house, family and friends. However, to me, being a mother is the one missing piece that I feel would make my life complete.
I hope that by reading my profile you will begin to see the love and support that I cannot wait to share with a child. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better.

I have always loved working with and being around children. When I was younger, I thought I wanted to be a teacher, but my career path took me in another direction. However, I continue to work with children through Junior Achievement, which is a program that fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy However, I continue to work with children through Junior Achievement, which is a program that fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. skills. I also teach religious education which help me to fulfill my love of working with children.
My family and friends are so very important to me. I believe they know they can come to me in times of need because of the honesty, integrity, and dependability I have shown. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for my family, friends and my future child.
I am an extremely motivated and determined person. I knew that my parents wouldn’t be able to afford to send me to college. So, I worked as hard as I could throughout high school to get scholarships. I also worked full time during college to pay for the rest of my tuition. While I would love to be able to financially help my future child with college, I am grateful for the lessons I learned and am proud of my accomplishments.
I live in a ranch style, brick house that I purchased in 2010. Upstairs is an open family room, kitchen, my master bedroom, an office and a spare bedroom that I plan into a nursery. My downstairs is completely finished and has lots of space to one day be the perfect playroom. I have a good-sized back yard that is fenced in. I can already picture spending days and nights outside blowing bubbles, running in sprinklers, playing games, or building snowmen!
I feel very safe and secure in my neighborhood. The friendly Midwest attitude is definitely present! There is a park and splash pad that is only a five-minute walk away and the larger neighborhood park, pool and sports complex is only a five-minute drive. There are also several schools nearby, including both public and private. The nice thing about Cedar Rapids is that you can get across town in 15 minutes, so you are never far away from anything you need!
My Extended Family
I am very close with my mom and I am who I am today because of her. My mom has always shown me unconditional love and support. She taught me what it means to have good work ethic. Above all else, she wanted to make sure she raised me to be a good person. These are beliefs I will instill in my future child.
My parents were divorced when I was four and I am their only child. Both of my parents have remarried and I have a half-sister, a half-brother, a stepbrother and a stepsister. However, in our family we live by the motto: “We aren’t step, we aren’t half, we’re just family.”
Though my siblings don't have children yet, cousins and friends are not in short supply! My parents and siblings cannot wait to be promoted to grandparents and aunts and uncles! A few years ago, I had the privilege of being asked to be godmother for my uncle's son. This meant a lot to me as I have a great relationship with my aunt, who is my godmother. She is my friend, sounding board, and travel companion. I am beyond blessed to have such a strong support system.
My Family Traditions
I am very lucky that most of my family live in Iowa, with the majority in Cedar Rapids. Being so close means that my family is able to get together often for holidays, birthdays, special occasions or impromptu game nights! My mom is only 10 minutes away, so frequent visits are expected!
I have so many wonderful memories from my childhood: indoor picnics, playing barbies with my mom for hours on end, putting on plays for my family, reading stories, watching basketball with my grandma; the list could go on and on. I cannot wait to start my own family traditions and create new memories with my child.
What Led Me To Adoption

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.
Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
