We met back in college through mutual friends and quickly became friends ourselves. We became close, and after several years of friendship, we began dating in 2012 shortly before graduating from college. From there, Kristin moved to Philadelphia to attend Thomas Jefferson University to get her doctorate in physical therapy while Jordan began working at a packaging warehouse. Jordan proposed two years later and we were married on August 29th, 2015. After a couple more job changes and one serious shoulder injury, Jordan went back to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant, graduating and starting his new career in 2018. We currently reside in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Kristin now works as Clinic Director of an outpatient PT clinic and Jordan has recently joined her at the same company.
While we love the rewarding nature of our work, what we really like to do is play! We love spending time with our family and friends. Jordan is close with his parents, younger brother and sister, and older half-brother. Kristin is an only child and is very close with her mother. We love hiking, skiing, road trips, concerts, and playing board games together. Kristin enjoys painting, running, and reading while Jordan likes to spend time playing guitar, writing music, backpacking, and working in the vegetable garden.
Another passion of ours is our work at Camp Susquehanna. Every summer we spend a week in the Pocono Mountains volunteering and chaperoning a camp for children who have survived serious burn injuries. This year, Jordan was selected to accompany one camper to the International Association of Fire Fighters Burn Camp in Washington DC. Meeting, supporting, and bonding with kids from all sorts of different backgrounds. This has continued to solidify our desire to become adoptive parents.
We love animals in general, but we are both definitely dog people. We adopted Marshall, a black lab/English pointer mix, back in 2016 when we bought our house. We had originally planned to wait a few years before getting a second dog but we soon realized that Marshall needed a buddy while we were away at work. So less than a year after Marshall’s “Gotcha Day”, we adopted Rudy, another lab-mix. The two of them are virtually inseparable and they have brought us so much joy. Jordan built a fence in the backyard so that they can run and play and we enjoy taking them for walks and hikes at our nearby local and state parks. With the growing number of dog-friendly vacation options, Marshall and Rudy have become our road trip companions too! They both get along well with other dogs and they absolutely LOVE people. We have also been pleasantly surprised by how gentle they are with small children.
