Dear Birthmother,

If you're reading this, we'd like to acknowledge what a difficult time this has likely been for you. We admire the selfless decision that you've made and appreciate the time you have taken to consider our profile. Our names are Jordan and Kristin. We are both 34 years old and we recently celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. In 2021, after years of trying, we learned that we would likely never be able to conceive a child naturally. We explored all of our medical options but after much consideration, prayer, and support from our family and friends, we felt that we were meant to become adoptive parents.

Thank you again for taking the time to review our profile and getting to know a little bit about who we are, our lifestyle, and what is important to us.

About Us

We met back in college through mutual friends and quickly became friends ourselves. We became close, and after several years of friendship, we began dating in 2012 shortly before graduating from college. From there, Kristin moved to Philadelphia to attend Thomas Jefferson University to get her doctorate in physical therapy while Jordan began working at a packaging warehouse. Jordan proposed two years later and we were married on August 29th, 2015. After a couple more job changes and one serious shoulder injury, Jordan went back to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant, graduating and starting his new career in 2018. We currently reside in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Kristin now works as Clinic Director of an outpatient PT clinic and Jordan has recently joined her at the same company.

While we love the rewarding nature of our work, what we really like to do is play! We love spending time with our family and friends. Jordan is close with his parents, younger brother and sister, and older half-brother. Kristin is an only child and is very close with her mother. We love hiking, skiing, road trips, concerts, and playing board games together. Kristin enjoys painting, running, and reading while Jordan likes to spend time playing guitar, writing music, backpacking, and working in the vegetable garden.

Another passion of ours is our work at Camp Susquehanna. Every summer we spend a week in the Pocono Mountains volunteering and chaperoning a camp for children who have survived serious burn injuries. This year, Jordan was selected to accompany one camper to the International Association of Fire Fighters Burn Camp in Washington DC. Meeting, supporting, and bonding with kids from all sorts of different backgrounds. This has continued to solidify our desire to become adoptive parents.

We love animals in general, but we are both definitely dog people. We adopted Marshall, a black lab/English pointer mix, back in 2016 when we bought our house. We had originally planned to wait a few years before getting a second dog but we soon realized that Marshall needed a buddy while we were away at work. So less than a year after Marshall’s “Gotcha Day”, we adopted Rudy, another lab-mix. The two of them are virtually inseparable and they have brought us so much joy. Jordan built a fence in the backyard so that they can run and play and we enjoy taking them for walks and hikes at our nearby local and state parks. With the growing number of dog-friendly vacation options, Marshall and Rudy have become our road trip companions too! They both get along well with other dogs and they absolutely LOVE people. We have also been pleasantly surprised by how gentle they are with small children.

Our Home

We live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, Ranch-style home in Elizabethtown, PA. It’s modest and cozy, with a finished basement where we spend a lot of our free time. The rear of our property backs up to a beautiful farm and we have a fenced in backyard with a deck and fire pit. Our neighbors are very friendly!

Our home is within a mile or two of an elementary, middle, and high school. We live in a scenic, rural area with lots of small cities and towns and farmland in between. We are only 20-30 minutes from Lancaster and Harrisburg with larger cities like Baltimore and Philadelphia only an hour and a half away. Washington DC is about 2 and a half hours by car and NYC is a 3 or 4 hour train ride. This region of the country has tons of history and culture, and we are fortunate enough to be within driving distance of so much.

Our Extended Family

Jordan comes from a very close knit family and loves spending holidays and birthday celebrations at his mom and dad's home in York, PA. His younger sister and her husband also live in York. They own their own business and are currently starting a family. His younger brother and his fiance live in Baltimore, MD. His older half-brother and his wife and their children live in Florida. On holidays, Jordan's family spends all day playing games and seeing how loud we can make each other laugh.

Kristin comes from a small family and is an only child. Growing up, her family would drive from Ohio (where she grew up until age 16) to Delaware and New York to spend the holidays with their extended family. Christmas Eve was always a big family day, and we still spend Christmas Eve with Kristin's extended family. Kristin's dad passed away in 2012, and since then she has grown very close to her mom. Kristin and her mom take 1-2 "girls trips" a year to the beach and to Vermont. We are very blessed to have the large and dependable support system that we do.

Our Family Traditions

A passion of ours is our work at Camp Susquehanna. Camp Susquehanna is a camp for children who are burn survivors. Kristin was introduced to camp by her grad school professor in 2013, and Kristin has been involved with Camp Susquehanna ever since. Jordan attended camp for the first time in 2017. Every summer, we spend a week in the Pocono Mountains volunteering and chaperoning. This year, Jordan was selected to accompany one camper to the International Association of Fire Fighters Burn Camp in Washington DC. Meeting, supporting, and bonding with kids from all sorts of different backgrounds. This has continued to solidify our desire to become adoptive parents.

What Led Us To Adoption

We were unable to have children naturally and after researching our options, we felt that we were meant to grow our family through adoption. We are looking forward to providing a loving and supportive home for our future children.
