Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for consideration in reading my profile. I'm both honored and excited that you are considering me as an adoptive parent. I have dreamed of having a child for so long, and I would dedicate my heart, home and life to raising a son or daughter and giving them every chance in life to be happy and successful.

I am motivated to become a parent because it is my deepest wish to help a child and have a family of my own. I have always wanted to have children, and I feel I am at a stage in my life where I'm emotionally and financially prepared to start a family.

About Me

I was born and raised in Ridgecrest, California. I have one younger brother and my parents are still married. I attended San Diego State University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration. After college, I moved to Beijing, China for a year and a half to teach English and travel. When I returned to San Diego, I completed a Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. I’ve worked in the field of Human Resources since that time. One job took me to Texas where I lived for a couple of years. I have been back in San Diego for 5 years and this is where I plan to stay.

I had a good childhood and experienced stability and support within my family relationships. My parents are still married and live in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. My grandparents lived nearby growing up and also provided much support to my family. Both my parents worked full time during my childhood. His family would typically eat dinner together at the end of the day and talk. I have many positive memories of growing up and doing fun things with my family, such as going to Disneyland every year, taking trips in our motorhome across the country or to Canada and camping. I had 18 cousins growing up who lived near me who I was close with and spent a lot of time around. I did well in school and had good friends throughout my childhood and adolescence. I played soccer, basketball and took piano lessons.

I'd describe myself as kind, patient, caring and committed to family and friends. I currently live alone with my two dogs, Sheba and Ranger. I work from home as the Head of Global Human Resources Operations and Employee Relations for a publicly traded data driven analytics and insights company. In my spare time, I enjoy being active and outdoors, and like to go fishing, camping, playing sports and running. I also enjoy relaxing by watching TV, going to the movies or reading.

My Home

I own a two story condominium in Oceanside, California. The condo has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and is located in a gated community. There is a swimming pool in the complex which is gated and requires a key to enter. There is also a small toddler play area in the complex. The community is safe and there are many children and families that live here. Children are often riding bikes throughout the complex and can be heard playing outside.

The surrounding community is culturally diverse and houses many military families. There are a variety of restaurants and shopping areas within close proximity. The YMCA is in walking distance. The elementary and middle schools are also within walking distance. I live only 10 minutes from Legoland, 45 minutes from Sea World and an hour from Disneyland.

My Extended Family

I have warm and loving family that has so much love to give. I know we would all love to add a new little one into family to share in our current traditions while also creating new ones. My family takes a vacation together every year. We’ve visited extended family in Dallas and Lake Tahoe – both places I can’t wait to take my child. When I travel, I really enjoy fishing and hiking the outdoors – I can’t wait to share that with my child.

A little over 5 years ago I started the journey as a foster Dad. I went through extensive training, home preparation and built a support network of friends and family. I have had the great pleasure to foster multiple kiddos spanning infant to 18 years old. What has really made me proud is watching a young kiddo grow up before my eyes and eventually go to college. Knowing I had a small part in their life and that success has made it all worth the journey.

My Family Traditions

I grew up in a family with many warm and happy traditions. My extended family would typically gather for Thanksgiving, with everyone always looking forward to mom’s awesome raisin sauce. As a child, I have fond memories of family having competitions on who could eat the most. We would gather again for Christmas. During the holiday season, a favorite tradition was opening extended family gifts on Christmas Eve and then family gifts on Christmas morning. As a parent, one tradition I hope to continue is driving around looking at the amazing Christmas lights throughout the neighborhood.

What Led Me To Adoption

MY PROMISE TO YOU AND YOUR CHILD

I will always communicate with calm words and come down to their level.

We will spend quality time together without electronic devices so I can give them my full attention.

I will try to answer all of their questions and model appropriate behavior.

I will always be there to help and guide them through school and life issues. I'll be there to cheer them on all of their endeavors.

I can't wait until the day I am called dad!
