James & Marinella In Washington

Marinella and James married on Marinella’s birthday, October 12, 2019. Being married and hoping to be parents means that we put 100% into everything we do. Its not only 50/50, but it's about giving all of or as much as you can to help out your partner and your children. Parents should be loving, kind, understanding, empathetic and also direct. James plans to have more of an authoritarian parenting style. He thinks that children will become more disciplined and prepared for adulthood. Marinella will focus more on leading with love and enhancing their strengths. With her MEd and teaching experience, she will parent with a more authoritative and democratic style, while allowing children to make choices to foster their best learning and growing environment.

James is a strong willed, determined and vivacious man of 35 years. His biological heritage includes Native American, Irish and English. His adoptive heritage includes English, German and French. John, his biological younger twin brother, was also adopted with him when they were two years old. Both were raised Catholic by their loving adoptive mother and father. He has his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He has been a nursing assistant for six years. Currently, he is a stay-at-home husband and doggy daddy. James aspires to work for the Department of Defense or to become an attorney. He also would not mind continuing to be a stay-at-home father.

Marinella is a kind, bubbly and tenacious 32-year-old from Romanian Gypsy descent. Her adoptive heritage includes Irish and Czech. She was also raised Catholic by a single mother. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Community Services. With her Master’s in Education, she is tutoring online. She is currently working on her Master’s in Social Work for Clinical Therapy. She also works for her mother as the office manager for her law firm. She is interested in working from home soon via telehealth counseling.

We both raise our fur babies, Bella Rose and Renald James. Bella Rose is a sassy and sweet Yorkie Maltese. Renald James is a fun and loving Dachshund Chihuahua. Both love to protect their parents and visit both sets of grandparents. Both were also adopted by James and Marinella.
With their love of travel, they have gone to many beach vacations on their anniversary.

We own and live in a house on Saint Street, which is in a mostly quiet neighborhood with many friendly neighbors with dogs and families. It is surrounded by nicely paved sidewalks and trees. Many people are usually out walking their pets and with family.

Both sides of the family are Catholic, and we are practicing Catholics. We both celebrate the Christian holidays of Christmas and Easter with our families. We also celebrate Halloween. We love America and greatly enjoy our 4th of July barbeques.

James has a large adoptive family with many uncles, aunts and cousins who live across the United States and centered in Eastern Washington. James’ birth family includes his father’s side, living in Montana and his mother’s side, living in Western Washington.

Marinella’s adoptive family is spread mostly throughout Washington state. Some extended family reach as far as Ireland, this includes many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her birth family still lives in Romania, as far as she knows. She has documentation regarding her birth mother and two older birth sisters. She has no inkling about her birth father. She does not have contact with them.

For fun, James likes camping, fishing, boating, off roading, traveling and clothes shopping. Some sports he likes watching include baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, boxing, football and also professional race car driving.

Marinella is very passionate about the Arts. She grew up training in technical and competitive dance, as well as singing in the choir and playing the piano. She still dances to this day at her old dance studio. She has a vocation for working with children and with the marginalized, particularly with those who have mental health issues and developmental disabilities. She also loves to act and desires to have a place to practice music, dance, drama and art therapy, once she gains her license. She plans to work with her adopted child or children using these techniques, if they are open and receptive to them. Her favorite sports are basketball and swimming.

We both love to travel! We love spending time with both sides of the family and friends. We plan to travel with our adopted child or children hopefully in the near future. We also enjoy swimming and have memberships to 2 swimming clubs. Most importantly, our greatest pastime is spending time with our fur babies and each other.

I (James) want to adopt because I have always wanted to be a dad! Unfortunately, we have struggled with fertility issues. We want to give a kid or two and their birth mother(s) a second chance at life.

I (Marinella) love children! People have told me that I will be a great mother. If adoption is in God’s will for my husband and I, then we are blessed!
