Dear Birthmother,

Thank you so much for considering us to adopt your baby. The strength and courage it must take for you to consider an adoption plan for your precious child is amazing to us.

Let me first start by introducing myself and my husband. My name is April and my husband’s name is Josh. We have been married for 7 years. After we got married we decided that we wanted to start a family. Unfortunately, after 5 years of fertility treatments we were unsuccessful. We sat down and discussed our next steps in great detail and we decided to pursue adoption. Josh and I have always wanted to be parents, and we feel that adoption will not only fulfill our desire for a child, but we can also provide you peace of mind knowing that your child will be cared for and will be loved immensely by us and our extended family.

We thank you for your time, and we hope that if we are fortunate to be chosen by you then please know that we promise to give your child a loving, nurturing, fun family and the best life possible. We hope this profile will give you some insight into our lives and the type of life that we can offer a child.

About Us

Hi we are April and Josh. We have been married for seven years and still going strong. We first met back in 2012 when we started working together at a winery. After working together for three years and getting to know each other, we had our first date in a little town in Bucks County. We spent hours walking around after dinner just talking and taking in the sites. After our first date, we went out that following Sunday after our shift and became official. In February 2016, Josh popped the question on our first trip to Nashville, Tennessee. We went to Arrington Vineyards, and Josh got down on one knee and asked April if she would make him the happiest guy in the world and marry him. April with tears in her eyes, of course said yes to the love of her life. We got married on May 13, 2017.

April works as a Paralegal for the District Attorney’s Office. She has been at her current job for 12 years. She first started in the Juvenile Court Unit where she spent the first ten years of her career. April decided that she wanted more work and experience within the office so she transferred to the Homicide and Non-Fatal Shooting Unit. April has been in this unit for almost three years and loves every minute of her job.

Josh works as an assistant manager for a retail book store. Josh has an impressive background when it comes to his work history. He is a dual licensed teacher K-12 to teach English and basic elementary education. He is also a licensed real estate agent. Even though he has experience as a teacher and real estate agent, his passion is in the retail world through and through. Josh has been with his current employer for six years and has moved up the chain of command very quickly.

In our free time, we like to watch blogs on YouTube especially Disney ones. We also like to garden. We are trying our hand at planting our own garden this year. Josh loves to read so any downtime he has he tries to read his books. We also like to do a lot of things together. One of our all-time favorite things to do in the spring and summer is to go mini golfing and play skee-ball. We like to make it a little competition for the entire summer to see who has the better score. We enjoy going to the boardwalk just to walk and have a date night every once in a while. One thing we enjoy is going to local festivals, whether it be an arts festival or a food truck festival.

April and Josh have one dog and one cat. Our dog's name is Short Round, we call her Shorty for short. She is a wired hair dachshund and terrier mix. Shorty is a happy go lucky dog. She is the sweetest dog and always has a smile on her face (a dog smile anyway)! Our cat’s name is Cali. Cali is a calico that we adopted in July of 2023 with no front claws. Cali is the friendliest and most lovable cat you’ll ever meet. She’s the type of cat who will lay on the floor her first time meeting you and show you her belly. Her and Shorty have become of the best of friends and that’s all we could have hoped for.

Our Home

We live in a suburb of Pennsylvania about 20 minutes from Philadelphia in a single-family house. Our home has three bedrooms and a full bathroom on the upper level. When you come in the front door you enter into the dining room/ living room with the steps that lead up to the top floor. Through the dining room is the kitchen with a door to the basement. Also, through the dining room is the den. The den is where we spend the majority of the time. There is also a half bath in the den as well. There is a door in the kitchen that leads out to the backyard and the deck. Our house is on a corner lot so we have a huge fenced in double lot backyard. It’s the perfect yard that a child’s swing set or playground would look great in. There’s so much room for activities and lots of toys.

Our neighborhood is a nice, quiet and delightful tree-lined street in a very desirable neighborhood. Our neighborhood has a diversity of people who live all up and down the block. There is much diversity when it comes to the ethnicity of the neighborhood as well. There is an abundance of children in the neighborhood as well. One of the bus stops is right across the street from our house.

The school system in our neighborhood is considered one of the best in the township. There are three schools starting with grades K-4, middle school grades 7-8, and high school grades 9-12. All of these schools are less than two miles from our house.

Down the street from our house is a park. This park has very nice greenery and a little creek that goes to the bigger stream that is way down the road. It’s a lovely area to have a picnic or just go to read a nice book. A few blocks away there is a large park with tennis courts, a soccer field, a skate park and a playground for kids of all ages. Every time we pass the park it is full of kids running and playing. It’s in walking distance which is a nice bonus especially on nice cool spring days.

In our neighborhood there is a number of cultural opportunities such as different festivals throughout the seasons and holidays. We don’t live too far from a movie theater that shows film screenings, and we are always up for an adventure to travel to anywhere for a new festival or exhibit.

Our future nursery will be in the second bedroom upstairs next to the master bedroom when the baby is old enough to transition to the nursery. The future nursery has gray carpet and light gray walls. There are two closets in the room with a window between them. We are going to have a Winnie the Pooh themed nursery. We have artwork for the walls as well as a large wooden Winnie the Pooh to hang up. The future nursery will be very warm and soothing for the baby. We will have a crib, rocking chair to rock the baby to sleep, a dresser for all of their adorable baby clothes and a changing table. The nursery will be nothing if not extraordinary and welcoming as the little one grows up. We only want the best for our future child and we feel that having a nursey that fits all the needs of a growing child is just what we can provide. If we are lucky enough to be chosen April has a very special stuffed donkey that she had growing up that she plans on giving to our future child.

Our Extended Family

We both grew up in loving households when we were younger. Josh’s parents are wonderful people who complete each other. Josh also has a younger sister, Maggie, who looks up to him and admires him. April's parents are great as well and are already grandparents to her niece, Skylyn. April’s dad will be the best grandpa ever because he loves to spoil his grandchild. April’s mom is a wonderful grandma and loves to buy everything possible for her grandchild. Once Josh and April have a child of their own we know that all the grandparents will do everything possible to make sure this child has the best life possible. April has an older sister, Stacy, who she shares a special bond with.

Both of our grandparents have passed away unfortunately, but Josh has an aunt who is like a grandmother to both of us. She is 92 and we love her so very much. If we are able to adopt a child to give her a great grandchild that would be the best thing ever just to see the look on her face when she gets to meet her great grandbaby for the first time ever. There would be no words to describe what that would mean to her.

Our Family Traditions

One of our family traditions is going to Josh’s parents’ house on Sundays for family dinner. We like to go to the pumpkin patch in the Fall to pick out a pumpkin to carve for Halloween. We have been doing this for the past seven years, and we always make a day of it and bring our dog along as well. She loves running in the pumpkin patch.

We are big on decorations for almost all the major holidays. April loves to change out all the dishtowels, hand soaps and candles for all the seasons. Yes, I have a closet full of hand soap, candles and dishtowels! Josh loves decorating the outside of the house starting with Halloween and wrapping it up with his Christmas display that grows bigger and bigger each year.

Christmas is big in our family! Josh loves decorating the outside of the house. He starts planning his layout in October because he has so many decorations. We both decorate the inside of the house. We just got a brand new 7ft pre-lit tree last Christmas. We put our tree up every year on Black Friday and decorate the rest of the house as well. We listen to Christmas music as we cover almost every single room with some sort of Christmas décor. We celebrate Christmas with Josh’s family on Christmas Eve every year. On Christmas day, we spend the day at home with our dog and cat and watch Christmas movies. Later in the evening, we go out to the surrounding neighborhoods to see the Christmas light displays.

What Led Us To Adoption

We would like to adopt because we have so much love to share and would like to start a family. After exhausting other methods, we came to the conclusion that the best way to build our family is through the miracle of adoption.

After years of struggling with infertility, we decided to pursue adoption knowing that we wanted to have a baby and that adoption was our best option to grow our family. This baby will be loved to the fullest because we have so much love to share.
