Dear Birthmother,

Hi there! First off, WOW. We can't even begin to imagine the courage it takes to make this decision, but we want you to know how much we admire you. Whether or not our paths cross beyond this letter, please know you are in our thoughts, and we're cheering for you as you navigate this journey.

Okay, so who are we? Well, we're the kind of family that laughs until we cry. We're messy, loud, and full of love. The kind of family that embraces the chaos of life and finds joy in the little things, like dance parties in the kitchen or movie nights where the popcorn ends up everywhere except the bowl.

Our story started with a dream to build a family, even though science told us we couldn't have biological kids. Megan's childhood cancer journey at age three made that clear, but we weren't about to let that stop us. Adoption was always in our hearts, and we dove headfirst into fostering. We've cared for several sweet babies who were reunited with their families (a bittersweet but beautiful thing), and we eventually adopted three incredible older boys. They've taught us so much about love, resilience, and how to survive Nerf battles in the living room. We are also teachers, so our ENTIRE lives have been centered around kids and their success!

But here's the thing: as full as our hearts are, we still have this deep, unshakable dream to welcome a baby into our family. It's a hope we've held onto for years; a dream that keeps us up at night with excitement and fills us with anticipation for what could be.

If you choose us, your baby will be adored beyond words. They'll have three big brothers who are ready to step into the roles of protector, partner-in-crime, and occasional snack thief. They'll be surrounded by a village of family and friends who are unmatched in their love and support (seriously, we've yet to meet anyone with a bigger cheer squad)! Your child will have parents who will love them fiercely, unconditionally, and with a whole lot of silliness thrown in.

We know this is a huge decision, and we're in awe of the love it takes to even consider this path. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us, and know that no matter what, we are rooting for you and your little one.

About Us

Megan & Devon

WATCH OUR ADOPTION VIDEO

We met as high school sweethearts. We've always been best friends and have a relationship that reflects it! Megan teaches 4th grade, and Devon teaches Jr. High PE and Weights, both at small schools. If they are not at school, they are most likely at a sports practice or game of some sort. We believe sportsmanship is an incredibly important life skill to possess, so if our kids aren't playing, they're sure to be there cheering each other on!

Our family loves to spend time together, especially traveling! Megan is a travel agent on the side, and it helps our family to be able to travel more! One of our favorite places is Walt Disney World! We have several other locations on our bucket list and can't wait to start checking them off! We also enjoy a good old fashioned family game night! The current family favorite is "Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza". Aggravation being a close second. We spend our free time together as a family. Whether it be playing outside, or snuggling up for a good movie, you can bet we will be doing it together.

The Zimdars We have 3 children, all boys. Each child is also adopted! Each boy is genuinely excited about becoming a big brother to a sweet little sister. This baby will be the center of everyone’s world in our household! Jackson, who is the oldest, and Miles, who is their middle kiddo, are both used to having little siblings around. They each have biological siblings who were placed elsewhere. They love that someone looks up to them and thinks they are so special. Gryffin, the youngest, does have biological siblings, however, he is the baby of the family.

We have three dogs and one cat. Mick Jaggar is the old man of the family and the mutt. Next is Trixie. She is our big lover. She is PHENOMENAL with kids and loves the attention she gets from them. Daniel Fireball (named by Jack) is our funny one! He was adopted to sleep at the foot of Jack’s bed to help him sleep. He LOVES his boy, and his boy loves him. The cat’s name is Dude. He’s a funny guy! You can always tell he likes you if he starts kneading on you! Together, each pet’s personality makes our home such a fun environment, full of snuggles!

Our Home

Our neighborhood is such a quiet and serene place. We own three acres of land. Our home is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom ranch style. We have a pool that is completely gated, a huge custom play set, a netted trampoline, and all of it is fenced in our backyard. We have a garden, as well. Our home sits on a dead end drive and allows for safer supervised bike riding. We love to do this as a family.

Our nursery is on one half of Gryffin's room. He currently has the largest room in the house, specifically for this purpose. For the better part of the first two years of the baby's life, she will sleep in a bassinet in our bedroom. Our nursery is Winnie the Pooh themed and is equipped with a rocker, a changing table, all the space you could want in a closet, soft carpet for tummy time, and a crib.

Our home is roughly 5 minutes from the nearest school and park. Devon teaches at the school that the boys go to. This is very convenient and gives the boys a deeper sense of safety while at school.

Our Extended Family

Our family has been unique from the start. We are high school sweethearts, and how we would build our family was always a topic at the forefront of our relationship. All of our children are adopted. We became foster parents and are now blessed with three beautiful boys. We keep in touch with as many family members from the boys’ biological families who are willing, who are safe, and who have the boys’ best interest at heart.

The support system that we have surrounding us is unmatched. Our parents, siblings, grandparents, and aunts and uncles are more than willing to drop everything and pitch in when needed. The boys have a very close relationship with their cousins and extended family. Typically, there is a family dinner at someone's house each week.

Our Family Traditions

We travel often and LOVE to vacation. Walt Disney World is where we frequent the most! We also frequently travel to see Devon's family. Because Megan has a small travel business, the family gets to greatly reap the benefits from that! We are an athletic family. This ranges from gymnastics all the way to football. Our boys participate in many sports, until we find what they enjoy. Currently soccer and football are what they are playing. Devon coaches at the school he teaches at, and Megan has been athletic her entire life. Another unique thing we enjoy is going antiquing. We find it so cool to be able to see things from our childhood and share them with our kids. The boys think it's the best thing in the world! They enjoy being able to play with the same toys we played with as children. Megan's love for crafts becomes obvious when you interact with our boys. The first thing Miles will do upon meeting you is create something for you! He has an engineer's mind, that's for sure! We often sit at the kitchen table and scrapbook, create with playdough, color together, crochet, and other things.

What Led Us To Adoption

Our family has always known we would adopt. Megan had childhood cancer at the age of three and unfortunately this made her unable to conceive. A baby has been a dream of hers, and ours, ever since we can remember.
