Dear Birthmother,

We understand that this is not an easy decision and hope that we are able to give you a glimpse into the family life we have and will be able to provide your child. It is no easy task to describe in words the love and desire that we possess in our wish to adopt a child and start our family. We have so much love to give and are so overcome with joy at the opportunity to raise a child in our home.

We met 17 years ago and will have been married for 9 years this summer. We have always planned on children. Unfortunately, Whitney struggled with a back condition since she was in high school and was forced to have surgeries to fuse her lower back, which has prevented her from ever giving birth naturally. In addition to this, Rob has 4 adopted cousins, which has given us the greatest appreciation for adoption.

We are both from large families and have always envisioned having a family of our own. We are delighted for this opportunity to build our family through adoption. We are so grateful to you for considering us as a part of your adoption plan.

About Us

We met on summer break from college. We were quick to fall in love and as we were still young, we dated for 9 years before getting married. In 2010, we got married in Whitney's hometown at a small art museum that sits on a picturesque river. It was a perfect day. Shortly thereafter, Whitney decided to further her education and received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston College. We currently live in a small suburb just outside Boston.

We are very active and love the outdoors and sports. We have a boat and spend much of our summers on the water and love to go skiing in Vermont over the winter. We also have an absolute passion and love for travel and have been all over the world together. We have explored several different countries across 4 continents. We both look forward to the opportunity when we can travel with our child and show him/her the world and all the opportunities and adventures it has to offer.

Whitney is the youngest of 4 children. She grew up very active in sports and was a star on her high school soccer team. She graduated with honors at the top of her college class and began her career in marketing after graduating. Rob is the youngest of 3 brothers. He was also very active in sports and was captain of his high school ski and lacrosse teams. In college, he played D3 Varsity Lacrosse and was captain his Senior year. After college, he began his career in enterprise software sales.

Our Home

Our house is a small Cape Cod with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a finished basement. We live near the top rated elementary school in the area. The elementary school has 2 baseball fields, a splash pad, 6 tennis courts, 3 different jungle gym play areas and lots of land to explore and enjoy.

Halloween and Christmas are a big deal in our little neighborhood. People deck out their houses in lights and decorations making it a top place to visit during the holidays. We've gotten to know many of the families in the neighborhood and will often get together for dinner parties, while the kids play together in the backyard of whichever house we're at. While it's always a great time, being around all of the children in the neighborhood makes us wish for a child even more.

Our Extended Family

Whitney's parents have been married for 41 years. We have 4 nephews and 2 nieces on her side of the family. We are fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with our two nephews, Ben and Cam who live 15 minutes from Whitney's parents. We spend as much time as possible with our other nieces and nephews, Nick, Lia, Harrison and Cecilia. We are a family of dog lovers and bring the dogs with us on many family trips.

On Rob's side of the family, his oldest brother, Steve and his wife are the only ones with children, but they've blessed Rob's parents, who have been married for over 40 years, with 3 wonderful grandkids. Finley and Georgiana are 7-year-old fraternal twins and Farrah is 4 years old. Unfortunately, they live on the other side of the world in Perth, Australia. Steve makes it back every summer with the twins, and this summer Farrah should be old enough to make the trip too. This past year, Whitney, Rob and Rob’s parents all flew to Australia to celebrate the Holidays with them. It was a great trip and we can’t wait to spend Christmas ‘down under’ with our child at some point.

We are very fortunate because our parents have become good friends over the years. They only live 15 minutes from each other and often do dinners together when we are not around. While it usually doesn’t work out for most couples, our ‘in-laws’ are able to get along and it’s enabled us to merge our families for major events.

Our Family Traditions

We spend a week each summer on Martha’s Vineyard with Whitney’s sister, Nicole and her family. We’ve been doing this for about 8 years and it is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with the kids. Our favorite part of going to Martha’s Vineyard is packing the car full of food and beach games and driving a mile on the sand out on South Beach. There is no cell service just sand, waves and salty air. We spend the entire day on the beach with our nephews riding waves and playing games (mostly cornhole) in the sand. When the sun starts to set, we again fire up the grill and eat hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner as we watch the sun set over the Bluffs. It’s pure magic and we so badly want to revel in this moment, this family tradition, with our own child.

Typically, with the exception of Rob’s brother’s family, unless they can make it to the states, we all celebrate the Holiday’s as one, big family. For Thanksgiving, Rob’s parent’s host, and we’ll go down to their house in CT. Whitney’s parents and will come over, along with Nicole, Dave, Ben and Cam. The day typically consists of food prep in the morning, followed by a long walk with the dogs and then we flip on some football to watch while the finishing touches are put on the turkey. For dessert, Rob’s mom does a pumpkin pie and Whitney’s mom makes her famous apple pie and her dad, who couldn’t gain weight if he tried, eats almost all of it!

On Christmas Eve, Dave and Nicole will host and we’ll all head over to their house for dinner and stories. Whitney’s sister’s family usually fly in from FL that morning to join in on the festivities. Rob and Whitney track Santa all day long with the kids and Rob’s brother is always sure to let us know when he arrives 13 hours ahead in Perth, Australia! Christmas morning is spent at Rob’s parents’ house. We then head to Whitney’s parents’ house along with Rob’s parents, for Christmas dinner where everyone gathers to celebrate together. It’s a full house!

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always wanted to be parents and it has been our dream since we were married 9+ years ago. Unfortunately, Whitney had spinal fusion surgery in 2014 and again in 2016, which has left her unable to give natural birth a child. Everything happens for a reason, however. We have always been open to adoption as Rob has 4 adopted cousins and we feel as though it is our destiny. We are thrilled to bring a child into our happy, healthy and active lives.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
