Dear Birthmother,

Thank you so much for taking time to learn a little about us. We are Suzanne and Joe from Alabama. Knowing that you are reading this means we are one step closer to our dream of having a family. We decided to pursue adoption after years of battling fertility issues. It is unbelievable to us that our dreams might come true through adoption. We know you are making the hardest decision of your life and we thank you for considering adoption. We would love to take this journey with you. We promise to love your child with all our hearts. We will be praying for you and your baby throughout your pregnancy.

About Us

We met in 2007 when Joe returned home from serving in the military. We were introduced through a group of friends and didn't start dating for about a year. We dated for about five years and have been married now for almost six years. We have a very loving relationship. We are so blessed to be each other's best friend. We have the same goals and dreams of completing our family through the adoption of a child. We have a lot in common and share the same values, including family is always first.

We enjoy spending time with each other and with our family. We spend a lot of time at home relaxing and enjoying each other's company. We love sports, car racing and enjoy going to sporting events. We love to dine out, travel and experience new adventures. Our best friends live in Florida, so we love to visit them at the beach. Our favorite vacation destination is Orlando. We own a timeshare in Orlando and spend a week there every year. We love going to all the Disney parks and especially the water parks. We can’t wait to share Disney with our child.

Our Home

We are so lucky to live in our dream home. Our home was the only home we looked at and we were instantly sold. We live two blocks from Joe's parents' house and three blocks from Joe's brother. It's great to have a lot of family nearby. We live in an older neighborhood with beautiful homes, trees and landscape. It is a three bedroom and two bath home on a huge corner lot. There is a great big back porch and fenced in yard. It will be a fabulous home to raise children.

We live in a small town, so everything is really close to us. Our nephews and niece love going to our neighborhood park that has a huge playground, pond with ducks, pool and a splash pad. The local library is next to the park too. Our church is about a mile away with so many great activities for children. We always take our nephews and niece to all the fun family functions and dream of bringing our child one day. The schools in our town have high ratings with quality education and a plethora of activities for the children.

Our Extended Family

Joe was born in Alabama where most of his father’s family is from and still lives. He has an older sister, who is married with three children, and a younger brother. Suzanne was born in North Dakota. She is the youngest of five sisters. Her parents divorced when she was young. Both of her parents remarried, so she gained a stepsister and a stepbrother. She feels very blessed to be close to all her siblings.

The best thing that has happened in our family is Suzanne’s sister adopted a baby boy. He is now four years old and has been the best gift to the entire family. Our days are filled with fun times including the zoo, movies, Chuck E. Cheese, parks/playgrounds and all the fun fairs and pumpkin patches. We can’t wait to be able to adopt and have another precious baby for all of the family to spoil.

Our Family Traditions

We both have awesome families. We are so blessed to be able to spend so much time with our families. Both of our families get together for every holiday. We don’t have to call when a holiday is around the corner because we already know that we will be meeting the family at Joe’s parents' house for a big potluck luncheon. Spending time connecting with family is important to us and it is a blessing to have this great tradition.

Recently we have started a new tradition to host Christmas Eve dinner at our house. This has made us very happy! Christmas is our very favorite holiday. We also carry on Suzanne's family tradition of having a big lobster dinner and opening presents on Christmas Eve.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always dreamed of having a family and can’t imagine life without children. We have struggled with fertility issues for six years now and we hope that our chance to adopt will bring us the possibilities that we have been dreaming of for so long.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
