Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time in getting to know us and for considering placing your child for adoption. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our story with you. From the beginning of marriage we wanted to adopt a child into our family. We met each other at church and became friends. As our friendship blossomed, we fell in love. We met in Minnesota and spent many years there, but we both fell in love with the Pacific Northwest after visiting here the first time. We kept coming back every few years and decided we should move here. We enjoy taking hikes through the waterfalls and seeing the mountains. We also enjoy sightseeing and discovering new places.

About Us

Mike is a computer programmer and Stephanie takes care of foster children full-time. Although we have different backgrounds, we have a lot in common. We both enjoy the same types of music, movies and sense of humor. We like to try different foods and live a healthy lifestyle because we want to be around a long time for our future children. We like to ride our bikes and work out at the gym. Mike enjoys swimming and running and has recently started competing in triathalons.
We have a 4 year old son, Christian, who said he is excited to have a little brother or sister. He is outgoing and very sociable. He likes to go to Chuck E. Cheese, take hikes together, go to water parks and play soccer.
We attend a non-denominational church that has people that come from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. We strive to be in each other's lives and live like Jesus. We are a part of a sister church with our church in Minnesota. We love to teach children in Sunday school because of our love for children and it helps us to keep child-like hearts. Our faith impacts our lives by God being the center of it. We pray about what we do in our lives and for God to guide us. We get together with friends, discuss our lives, study the Bible and pray together. As for extended family, we call them weekly and sometimes do video calls in addition to making annual trips. Our friends here, as well as our friends and family in Minnesota, are excited about our adoption hopes.

Our Home

Our home has three bedrooms, 2 ½ baths with the bedrooms on the second level. Our home is located in a cul-de-sac community, which is quiet while being close to the city. The neighborhood is diverse with many children in the community.

Our Extended Family

We have large family gatherings for birthdays once a month to celebrate those with a birthday. We sing Happy Birthday in English, Spanish and sing "May the good Lord bless you!" to the tune of Happy Birthday. We always gather for major holidays with games, food and music. We are grateful for each other's families embracing us despite being from different cultures. We like to spend time with our nieces and nephews and take them to special places and make memories with them. On Monday nights, we have a "family time" to discuss plans for the week and to connect with each other on how we are doing.

What Led Us To Adoption

We always wanted to have children and dreamed about being parents since we got married. We knew it may be difficult having children even before we were married, but we had faith that anything is possible with God. After years of not getting pregnant, we tried a couple rounds of IVF, which were unsuccessful. We discussed adoption even before marriage as something we would want to do even if we were able to have children. Being able to raise a child and show them all the love that we have to give is something we have felt called to do. We love being around children, but being parents is a joy that we have been longing to fulfill for 15 years. We have a great marriage and we love each other very much, and it would be so wonderful to love a child together working as a team. We are grateful for this opportunity and would cherish everyday that we were parents.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
