Hello, my name is Sauna. I would like to thank you for considering me with this life changing opportunity to raise your child. I can’t imagine how difficult this decision is for you and my love and prayers go out to you. I knew I always wanted to be a mom, but never thought I would find myself in this current situation. My dream of becoming a mother has been filled with miscarriages, failed IVF treatments and a failed marriage to a man that decided he no longer wanted children. I know now that it was all a part of God’s plan. The most important aspects of my life are my faith, family, friends and surrounding myself with kind people that only want the best for the child and me that God chooses for my family. I, along with my family and close friends, have so much to give a child. The gift of being a parent would be a dream come true for me. I will love this child so much. I will provide the balance that a healthy child needs: love, laughter, respect, discipline, faith and encouragement. My own mother is the best parent I know. She raised me to be honest and hard working. Your child would also have the gift of her influence along with all the love and attention a granny can give. My mother is so excited to take this journey with me. I’m sorry that this is a decision that you have to make. I am sure it is a difficult one, and my heart and prayers go out to you. My Best, Sauna

My favorite thing to do is LAUGH! I try to enjoy every moment I can and laugh and smile whenever possible. I have found life is too short to focus on things that aren’t going well. I continue to try and focus on the blessings right in front me. I have gone through some very tough times in my life, but my faith, along with the love of family and friends, always keep me from staying down too long. I love to travel! I have been to Jamaica, Mexico and Germany. I always travel with family and/or friends, and I love the experience of learning how others across the globe live. I learn so much about myself when I meet people that are so different from me. Memories in the making! I have a strong belief in God. My faith is very important to me. I try to live my life everyday with respect for others and to experience joy. Although I have had some disappointments, my life has been filled with blessings and good times. I will teach your child to have this same positive outlook in life. I love to play basketball, although I have lost some of my skills over time. I received a scholarship to the University of Nebraska. I have coached and refereed. All of this has allowed me to develop and influence youth in my community. I am a member of Safehaven Board. Safehaven is an organization that provides housing, protection, education and finances to women of domestic violence. I also volunteer my time to help build playgrounds, paint and build on location at Safehaven. The awesome company I work for created this opportunity for me. I work in the Auto Finance industry. I have been employed with the same organization for the past 17 years. Professionally I have been extremely blessed. My employer supports diversity, development of people, and work-life balance. It encourages employees to put family first.
I love my home, just missing the laughter of children. It is located across the street from the community swimming pool/park and play ground. I recently built my home to prepare for the extension of my family. I have 5 bedrooms and a large kitchen. Plenty of room for when I host Thanksgiving every year. All the schools are within walking distance and the neighborhood is full of children. Liam ( the Dog ) absolutely loves the backyard.
My Extended Family
I have 7 aunts and uncles on my mother’s side and 6 on my father’s side. My dad passed away 15 years ago. I really miss his laugh! I get my sense of humor from him. I am the only child to my parents. I have 10 cousins I grew up with that I would call my brothers and sisters. We are extremely close and supportive. The holidays are a special time for me. Several family members host “their” holiday, and it’s a time to swap stories and eat some good home cooking. My holiday is Thanksgiving!!! The tree goes up and the festivities begin. Turkey and dressing, sweet potatoes, greens and mac & cheese are at the top of the menu. Friendly competition of which dish was the best is always encouraged. Watching my 20 plus relatives hold hands for the blessing of the food is my favorite moment.
My Family Traditions
I have three very special friends that have been in my life for almost 20 years. Our birthdays are a week apart, and we often celebrate them together. They are 3 of the strongest women I know. They are supportive of me and honest with me when they know I am wrong, even if I don’t want to hear it. They have been the best support throughout it all! We cry, laugh, celebrate and pray with each other. I trust these women with my life and know that they will be a blessing in my child’s life as well.
What Led Me To Adoption
My love for children is what led me to adoption. I knew I always wanted to be a mother and when the doctor told me that I would not have my own children, I was devastated. I have been so blessed and the thought of not sharing my life with a child Is unimaginable. I can’t wait to hear the words “Mommy” and the sound of little feet all over this house!

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.
Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
