Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for reading our profile. We appreciate being considered for this opportunity. Our names are Dalton and Sara. Our desire to start a family started very early on in our marriage. We both wanted a house full of children. We learned after 18 months of trying to conceive on our own that it would be a struggle for us to conceive without expensive treatments. In that moment, we decided that we would rather put our resources toward adoption than the treatments. We would like to express our joy over being considered. We're hopeful and excited to go on this adventure.

About Us

We met each other around ten years ago when a mutual friend introduced us. We knew of each other, but didn't have any contact until about five years ago. When we reconnected, we soon fell in love and started our lives together. We have been married for three years and neither of us has ever been happier.

We were both raised in small towns in Oklahoma. We enjoy spending time with family and close friends, cooking together and spending quality time together. We genuinely enjoy the quiet evenings at home spending time with one another whether we are watching movies, TV or simply sitting in close proximity to one another.

Dalton is a Route Sales Rep at Frito Lay and Sara works at Newton Eye Clinic as an Optometric Technician. In our free time, Dalton enjoys exercise, reading and gaming. Sara enjoys knitting, crocheting, cooking, music, redecorating and reorganizing. We both work hard so in our free time we can focus on things that make us happy.

Our Home

We own a two-story, four bedroom and two bathroom home in a small town in Oklahoma. We have a nice sized, fenced in backyard with room for a swing set, a sandbox, a picnic table or whatever else our child(ren) will want. We have our child's nursery picked out of the two open bedrooms that we have. We have plans to decorate that room for the child that we so willingly welcome into our home. We truly can't wait to decorate this room for a little one.

We live in a close-knit and caring community with people willing to help their neighbors everywhere you look. There's a public pool, two parks, a public library and a small school with a lot of after school activities. Due to the small school size, there is more opportunity for one-on-one time between students and teachers, which we believe improves the school experience for students.

While living in a small town can sometimes be frustrating, we feel as if the small town we live in will give our child a sense of compassion and companionship. We are excited to raise a child in this caring, loving and accepting small town.

Our Extended Family

Family is very important to us. We don’t know where we’d be without the love and support from our family. Dalton’s mom got sick eight years ago and he dropped out of college to take care of her. If not for him, we aren’t sure what would have happened to her. She was in very poor health. He worked full time to support the both of them. When he wasn’t at work, he was most likely taking his mom to a doctor's appointment or to the ER. Her health was starting to improve when we started dating. When we moved in together, we took care of her together until she was strong enough to live on her own again. To this day, she is still in fairly good health and living successfully on her own.

Sara's family is an amazing group of people who have helped her through the most difficult times of her life. They were there for her when she was wheelchair bound after a car accident and helped her through the recovery. They were there every step of the way while she learned how to walk and function again. They never gave up hope and never stopped supporting and encouraging her to do her best while she recovered. Aside from Dalton, Sara's parents are her biggest supporters. They also love and support Dalton like he is their own.

Our Family Traditions

Holidays are a big thing in our family, so we spend almost every holiday with family. We either host family holidays at our house or get together with family at our parents’ houses. Every year for Christmas, we go to Sara’s parent’s house, open presents, eat a large meal that the entire family has a hand in preparing and then sit and talk for hours. Meanwhile, we consistently go back to the kitchen for more of the famous, home cooked meal that we put together that day. Inevitably, we all take naps and start all over again once everyone is awake and hungry yet again.

Thanksgiving is another big holiday for us, it’s another day of the year that we all get together and eat, talk, play games and just hang out as a family. We may not have any grand traditions, but our families’ traditions of just being together, laughing, talking, and hanging out are no less important. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have wanted children for a while and found out that we are unable to have children of our own. We decided that adoption made more sense to us than spending money on fertility treatments that may or may not work in the end.
