Dear Birthmother,

We would love to THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtful consideration of adoption. It takes a lot of pride to do that and we are humble and so grateful for one of the hardest decisions you’ll ever make. We are Jason and Nicole. We live in Enumclaw, WA on 5 acres of land in a 3,000 square foot rambler home. Our love story began almost 17 years ago through a mutual online friend, in April of 2003. We hit it off right away and we have been married since August 2008.

Our struggle to conceive began in 2010. After 6 long years of trying and multiple IUI treatments, we found out that the chances of having a baby on our own was going to be pretty low due to infertility. We have thought about adoption in the past and adopted our son, Brennen through the foster care system this year. We are looking to complete our family with another bundle of joy! We hope to hear from you very soon!

About Us

Jason was born in Seattle, WA. He grew up with two siblings with his parents in Kent WA.; a 30-minute drive from Seattle. His parents have been married for 30+ years and started dating in high school. He has one younger sister and one younger brother. Jason has always been the protector of them. He is very close to his family and extended family.

Nicole was born in Olympia, WA. She grew up with four older siblings in a small town called Tenino. It’s about a 30-minute drive to Olympia. Nicole’s parents were married for 18 years before her father passed away from stomach cancer when she was only 13 years old. Her mother was left to raise Nicole and her older brother on her own. Her mother had to return to work to support her family. Her other siblings had already moved out by that time. Nicole can be shy at first until she gets to know you. She’s very cautious and protective of her family.

We are both laid back kind of people who balance each other out. Jason is the kind who takes the first steps and Nicole is the one who follows through the rest of the way.

Our son, Brennen came to us through Nicole’s sister-in-law, whose friend from work could no longer take care of her grandson and needed to find him a foster home. At the time, we weren’t even licensed and needed to complete the process, which took about 4-5 months. We finally got our foster license in November of that year and have had Brennen since. He is now our son and has been adopted into our family. We love him as he was our own and would do the same for the next child that joins our family. It’s not where you came from, it’s who you’re with that matters the most.

Our Home

We live in the beautiful city of Enumclaw, WA. It’s honestly the prettiest city we've ever lived in. We are about an hour away from Mt. Rainier National Park. We are close to shopping, restaurants, grocery stores and farming. The nearest park is only 3 miles from our house. We have several schools in the area to choose from that are close by.

Our neighborhood is very safe, quite and peaceful. Our neighbors like to have a neighborhood BBQ each year, just to get together and have a good time. We have several deer that come and visit, as well as eagles and hawks. You can see Mt. Rainier from our backyard and the hills of the Cascade Mountains. We have plenty of yard space for the kids to play in. It’s like being at a park!

Our Extended Family

We have a pretty large family between the two of us. Jason’s family lives closer than Nicole’s, so they host most of the gatherings. We have birthday parties just about every month, sometimes even up to six in one month! We like to go on family trips with the whole family during the summer months and always have a blast. We go to the beach/ocean, Eastern Washington to Leavenworth (an old German town). We go what my husband calls “Fluffy” camping and rent a house for a weekend. We are planning a trip to Idaho again this summer to go to the Silverwood water park.

Throughout the rest of the year, we will hang out at each other’s houses and have BBQs, go to the park, have bowling night, etc. We go down and visit Nicole’s mom in Olympia every few months or when we can. Most of Nicole’s siblings live out of state so we don’t see them as often as we would like.

For our little family, the three of us, we like to watch movies, play board games, play with our son and outside activities. We just enjoy being parents and want to add another bundle of joy to our life!

Our Family Traditions

Holiday’s with our family are very busy! Christmas is my favorite holiday and Jason’s is the 4th of July and New Years so he can light off fireworks. We all get together on Thanksgiving, if we can. If not, we have three Thanksgiving celebrations in one week. The same thing goes with Christmas. One of our family traditions is to travel to different cities to look at all the Christmas lights around all the neighborhoods.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have been trying to have a baby for 8 years now. We found out a couple of years ago that it would be nearly impossible to have our own due to infertility. We became foster parents with hopes of fostering to adopt more then one child. It has been a lot harder than we ever expected. So we are on a new path to adoption because we believe that is what is meant to be.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
