Dear Birthmother,

Hello, we are Nicole and Curtis. We have been trying to get pregnant for two years. When we failed to do so, we contacted Reproductive Care, who gave us some medication to help get pregnant which did not work. We tried to do an IUI which was unsuccessful. We know adoption is our best option to grow our family. We have so much love to give and know we are meant to have a child or children to be part of our family.

Thank you for your consideration for us to adopt a baby to love and cherish for the rest of our lives. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile.

About Us

We have been married for two and a half years after meeting on Tinder and dating for a year. We were married in the Salt Lake City Temple in February 2018. We like to watch game shows, law and first responder TV series together. We like to play board and video games. We make sure to give each other space, but every evening we set aside time to be together. Usually the dog is included, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Curtis is a retired Military Police Officer. He currently works as an SPS (Store Protection Specialist) at Ross. He deters internal and external theft in the store. He loves security and this enables him to still do that without being a police office. Nicole is a scanning Coordinator Assistant. She makes and hangs signs for grocery items. She also does price changes and enjoys her job.

We have one dog, his name is Austin. He is a 1 ½ year old Labradoodle. He is energetic, fun, loving and playful. He’s good with kids and people. He is really good with cats and other dogs. He loves his toys and treats. We love him so much!

Our Home

We live in a 2nd floor apartment. We love where we live. There are many places to walk to like, shopping centers and restaurants. We can even walk to our church. Our city parks are big and fun to hang out at and play. We really don’t have a yard, but we go over to our parents' houses and play and hang out in their yards. The schools in our district have great teachers and are very highly rated.

Our Extended Family

Family is very important to us. We are close with our families and they all live nearby. They are very excited for our plan to adopt. We enjoy spending time with our families and spend holidays and birthdays with them. On Curtis’s side, we celebrate birthdays by either having a BBQ or their favorite food. Then we enjoy home made dessert, play games, watch TV and spend time together.

The night before the 4th of July, we go out and save our spot for the next day's parade. On the day of the 4th, we do a 5k run. After the 5k, we go to breakfast, then we go back to our spot and watch the parade. When the parade is finished, we move our spot to where we can watch the fireworks. Sometimes we hang out with Nicole’s family and relax while we wait for the fireworks to start. There are also many things going on in our city that day.

Our Family Traditions

On Nicole’s side, we meet at a different family member’s house every Thanksgiving. Some years we go see a movie after Thanksgiving lunch/diner. We also watch the Thanksgiving Day parade on TV, and spend the rest of the day enjoying each other’s company.

On Christmas Eve, we first spend time with Curtis’s playing board and card games. Then we open pajamas, which we wear the next day when we all get together and open the rest of the presents. Then we go to Nicole’s parents’ house to open presents and go to a movie. Some years we go to a Christmas party on Nicole’s side of the family; play games and enjoy good food and company.

What Led Us To Adoption

We wanted to have kids of our own, but couldn’t have them ourselves. We love children so much and adoption is our best option to make our dream come true.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
