With you going through such an emotional decision, I want to give you my sincere thank you for considering me as an adoptive parent for the baby you are carrying. I am so proud to know that you made this choice even with the difficulties and commend you so much for your bravery and love. My name is Nichelle and my friends and family would briefly describe me as caring, loyal, intelligent, loving and funny. I have decided to adopt at this time after going through infertility treatments and attempts over the last ten years. My desire to be a mother is the same as it has always been since I was a young adult and hope my prayers are answered.

Being a mother has always been a dream of mine. The chance to love a child, provide a secure home and share my strength and perseverance would forever enrich both of our lives in immeasurable ways. My life has unfolded in sometimes, unexpected ways, with ups and downs, but always with new hope for moving forward. Each chapter has taught me lessons that I believe will make me a good mother. I am who I am today because of strong, loving, and faithful parents. I like to think that I have my father’s drive to learn. As one of the first Black students at Georgia Tech after desegregation, he stressed education and encouraged me to reach for my goals. My mother’s sense of adventure mixed with traditional values burns bright in me, as well! As an adult, I feel so fortunate to have such a close relationship with both of them and would love to see them involved in my child’s life. My parents and friends have been with me through my fertility struggles and didn’t miss a step when I expressed my desire to become a mother through the adoption.
I currently live in the Suburbs of Atlanta, GA in a large two bedrooms/two bathrooms home. I currently plan to share my space with the baby so we can bond closer together and eventually move him/her to the other bedroom or move to a larger apartment or townhouse in the area. The neighborhood was attractive to me originally and it has remained a diverse area with plenty of nearby parks and great schools.
My Extended Family
My parents have been married 49 years this year. My father, Lawrence is a great role model and part of black history! He is one of the 1st black students accepted at Georgia Teach and one of the first ten to graduate with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He is also an Army Veteran. Due to his career promotions, the family has lived through the Midwest including Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. (I was in college at this time at Kent State so I missed the Windy City.) My mother, Brenda has been a homemaker taking care of my brothers and myself. She is very caring, but loves to try new things. She is my concert buddy since I moved to Georgia and just loves it! My older brother, Patrick has been self-employed for much of his career after completing both undergraduate and graduate school. He is married to my sister-in-law Michelle and they have one fabulous daughter and my niece, Savannah! She is such a talented girl in both her studies and the arts. She keeps asking me when am I going to have a baby and I can’t wait to tell her after you and I are matched together so I can share the news with her! My younger brother, Brandan is the artist of the family. He has a degree from film school for directing and screen plays. Although he has a creative corporate job now, he still hopes to have a major film someday in Hollywood.v
My Family Traditions
As a family, we typically get together for major holidays. I have a lot of extended family here in Georgia on both sides of the family, so it will be a great addition to the family as a whole. I talk with both parents frequently and my apartment seems to be the favorite place to hang out at least one weekend a month!

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.
Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
