Miciah & Josh In Arizona

After graduating from high school, Miciah attended East Tennessee State University where she earned two bachelor's degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and Geography. While teaching, she returned to school and received her master's degree from Grand Canyon University. Josh joined the United States Air Force after graduating from high school. He served for 21 years, 15 as an Armament Systems Specialist and the final six years as a First Sergeant. He received professional associate's degrees in both applied science and Human Resources, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from University of Maryland Global Campus. In 2018, Josh retired from the Air Force. He then went to nursing school and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

We originally met in 8th grade and dated for a summer. We were each other's first boyfriend/girlfriend and first kiss. Since we went to different high schools, we lost contact. In 2014, we reconnected just days before Josh left for Italy on an overseas tour. Over the next 3 years, we enjoyed time together during vacations and approximately 800 Skype dates while Miciah was relocating to Arizona and beginning her teaching career. Upon Josh's Air Force retirement, he moved to Arizona to be with Miciah. We married on December 29th, 2019, five years after our second- first date.

We try to find happiness in the little things of life, smiles, laughter and even tears. We want to create lifetime memories and we would love to welcome your child to our family to help create and share the memories.

We live in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, new build home. Our neighborhood is quickly expanding, with people moving in from other states. We have access to a community center with a pool, splash pad, small water park, fishing pond and large playground. There is a public elementary school across the street and a private charter school within a mile from our home. Since we live within 45 minutes from Phoenix, there are numerous cultural opportunities to experience. We are in the process of remodeling the room that will be the nursery. We are excited to create a warm, loving environment for the baby.

Most of our family live in Tennessee. Both of our mothers and Josh's brother, who is a local musician, live in Kingsport, TN. Miciah's sister, brother-in-law, two nephews and niece live in Johnson City, TN. Both our mothers are retired and enjoying retired life and grandchildren. Unfortunately, Miciah's father is deceased, but our child will know him through all the good memories she has to share.

We visit Tennessee as often as we can, especially during the holidays. Josh's father is a retired Electrical Engineer and lives in Tampa, Fl. We have extended family who also live in Alabama and Colorado. You can bet our families will be traveling across country as much a possible to get to know the baby and we will also be making trips to visit family more frequently.

Josh has 1 biological daughter, Layla from a previous marriage. She is 23 years old and lives in Oklahoma. She recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and is currently seeking a second degree in Forensics. She is vibrant, outgoing, smart and kind. She would love to have a little brother or sister to spoil when she comes to visit.

We both enjoy spending time with our dogs, Wrigley & Swayze, traveling, going to baseball, hockey, and basketball games and attending concerts. Josh has played guitar for over 30 years and is learning to play drums. He also enjoys going on long runs and collecting vinyl records. Miciah enjoys, when it is not too hot, which it usually is in Arizona, hiking, anything water related and of course, traveling to experience new places.

After finding each other later in life, we have finally got to a point where we can expand our family. Adoption just seemed the best way to do that.
