Dear Birthmother,

Hello! We are Michella, Jeremiah and Moriah. We are so excited to start this journey with you and we are so thankful you are taking the time now to read a little bit about us. We have been married for 9 years. Together we have a beautiful little girl, Moriah who is 3 and a half years old and is so excited to have a baby brother or sister. Tragically, when Michella was pregnant with Moriah, Jeremiah suffered an injury causing us to no longer be able to have children. We want to continue to grow our family and we are so excited to begin this journey. We admire your strength in choosing this option and hope you will consider us as you start your journey.

About Us

We met going to play flamingo football. Michella was going into 9th grade and Jeremiah was going into college. She had a fun time trying to tackle him! We were friends for the next 4 years before we started dating. We married two years later and have enjoyed life together since.

We share the same belief in God and are involved in church together. Our relationship with God has gotten us through all our hard times and we will always put our trust in Him.

We both come from very hard-working families who taught us a lot about a good work ethic. We both work in retail and have worked our way from the bottom of our companies to leadership positions. Jeremiah works as a District Fast Manager for Tractor Supply and Michella works in Asset Protection for Walgreens. In our positions, we both have flexible schedules and are enjoying all the time together at home with Moriah.

Moriah is our 3 and a half year old daughter and has been such a joy to our family. Most of our time is spent caring for and loving her. She is very energetic, sassy, independent and always has us laughing. She loves going to daycare and seeing her friends and teachers. She loves taking care of her babies. She is very caring and has a big heart. She will be a big helper to a new baby in the family.

In our free time, we are usually playing with Moriah outside or building tents inside. We love going to the zoo, playing miniature golf, visiting friends and taking the dogs on walks. Moriah keeps us busy and we cannot wait for her to have a friend to enjoy all these things with. We also love visiting our families, as much as possible.

Our Home

We bought our first home after 7 years together and we absolutely love it. We have a half acre lot that gives Moriah and the dogs plenty of room to play. We have a chest of outside toys and a trampoline in the back that Moriah loves to jump on. A lot of our neighbors have young kids also and it is fun to see everyone outside when the weather is nice. We have a really good school just 2 miles down the road from us. The lake with a park and splash pad is just a couple of miles behind our house and that’s where most of the birthday parties happen in the summer.

Our Extended Family

We spend a lot of our free time visiting our families. Michella’s family has several annual get togethers that we always do our best to go to. Michella’s parents, “Meme and Popol” are the best grandparents a kid could ask for. They visit us as often as they can. They video chat with Moriah almost everyday between visits! They have a special relationship with each of their grandkids and are so excited to have another to love.

Jeremiah’s parents, “Nonnie and Poppie” live on a farm that one day we will take over. Moriah loves riding on the tractor with Poppie as he takes hay to the cows. She loves “helping” feed the cows and enjoys the open fields to run through. Nonnie is a teacher and is always making our time on the farm fun and educational. Moriah loves working the cows with Nonnie.

Michella has had the opportunity to travel on missions overseas with her mom and mother-in-law. Michella and her mom went to Haiti and was able to go to a few orphanages and show love to the kids there. She went to Ethiopia with her mother-in-law and visited a care point that lets people sponsor kids and help the families financially. We were able to meet the kids we’ve been seeing through pictures. It was very surreal and emotional. Both of these trips were special and something she will always cherish.

Our Family Traditions

In Michella's family there are several annual get togethers. Every fall, we have a pumpkin carving contest, play cornhole while the kids play outside, and have a bon fire for hot dogs and s’mores. It is always so fun to get the adult and kid cousins together to catch up and have a good time. Every Christmas, Michella and her siblings take their families to Meme and Popol’s to have a sleep over. Her parents always buy the grandkids matching pajamas and they open their stockings on Christmas Eve. Then we wake up and have Christmas breakfast and open presents. After that, all her extended family comes over for games and a gift exchange. We make a lot of finger foods and eat them all day long. It is such a fun time that we look forward to all year! For Easter, Meme and Popol buy all the kids Easter baskets and then they hunt for eggs. We always make Chow Mein for Easter, which is a recipe given to our family by a Chinese man who was a neighbor to Michella's Great-Great Grandparents 80 years ago.

With Michella’s dad’s side of the family being Mexican, we also have a favorite tradition of making tamales together. Unfortunately, Moriah did not get to meet her Grandma Mary, but through a few of our favorite recipes of hers, our kids will hear about her and learn how to make the foods themselves for their future families.

In Jeremiah’s family, we enjoy going to family reunions and getting to reconnect with all his extended family. It is always fun to watch the kids meet their cousins and play with them all day. We usually have a big fish fry and a favorite tradition, homemade donuts.

We also love Christmas at Nonnie and Poppie’s. We get together with all the extended family and make a day out of playing games with the cousins. The kids always leave with lots of goodies and we get to spend real quality time with our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always had a deep desire to adopt children in need of a loving and stable home. Now that we are unable to have more kids of our own, we are hopeful that our family will continue to grow through adoption. Our hearts are open and ready to love and care for a precious baby.
