Kim & Joe In Ohio

We are a full of life, fun-loving and exciting family! Our relationship began in the fall of 2015, due to our infant sons. We started to spend time hanging out and having play dates together. As our sons developed, our love for each other grew. We married in the spring of 2018 and created our blended family.

Kim is a Mental Health Therapist. She enjoys spending her free time cooking, baking, decorating, gardening and being outdoors. Joe works on a customer service and planning team at a major logistics site. He has the opportunity to help people in the area receive materials to fulfill their needs. Joe enjoys reading, writing, playing video games and being outside. We have 2 sons in our home that bring us such joy and love.

We have 2 fun-loving sons in our home! Their names are Grayson and Devin. They enjoy being around us and love being outdoors. The boys are a few months apart in age and have spent a lot of time together. Grayson is a 6 year-old who enjoys mechanical things, giving big hugs and singing. Devin is a 6 year-old who loves to entertain others, play as a superhero and gives compassion to people that he meets. They are both nurturing and would love to have a younger sister to care for and play with. Their younger sister would have the ability to thrive around mild tempered and loving brothers.

Doing fun activities together provides us with a lot of joy! We enjoy spending time at the local attractions and exploring neighboring metro parks. Traveling excites us and we look forward to our upcoming vacations.

We currently live in Ohio, Buckeye Country, where we enjoy the 4 seasons! Our house is located in a Cul-de-sac neighborhood that is full of young families with children. We have friendly neighbors who love to come by to talk and play. Our home is a classic, Mid-Western home with 4 bedrooms and 2 ½ bathrooms. There is a bedroom dedicated for a wonderful bundle of joy! The bedroom is located upstairs with its own walk-in closet. There is plenty of room for many toys. Our backyard has a playset, trampoline and many fun toys to play with.

We live in a very diverse area filled with many nationalities, lifestyles and ages. Our home is a few miles away from a Military Base, our schools, shopping and several metro parks. Our town has a small-town feel, with the amenities of a big city. We live close to a major amusement park, waterparks, zoos and museums.

We have a very supportive and loving extended family. Our parents and grandparents live nearby and they play an active role in our lives. We are lucky to spend time laughing and enjoying the company of many aunts, uncles and cousins. There are many family get togethers that occur throughout the year that are attended. We enjoy engaging in Jamaican traditions and speaking the Patois language.

We have many family traditions that we look forward to. Our family is a melting pot, so we have the wonderful opportunity to enjoy it with American and Jamaican traditions. We make sure to decorate our home for all of the major holidays. Birthdays are fun time at our house! We enjoy birthday cupcakes with our families and love to sing to each other. On Easter, we love to look for the Easter bunny underneath our Easter tree. We check for Easter egg goodies and enjoy our Easter baskets. The Fourth of July we enjoy barbequed food, water games and fireworks with family. We also love Halloween! We make sure to have our home decorated so that we can enjoy all of the aspects of the holiday. We include our extended family as we participate in Trick-or-Treating. Thanksgiving comes with a lot of family love. We have the opportunity to travel around our town and visit all of the extended family. We enjoy tasting large varieties of food. In the late evening, we venture out to check out all of the nearby Christmas light displays.

We look forward to Christmas the most! We spend time decorating yummy sugar cookies for Santa, building gingerbread houses and tasting Jamaican Christmas Cake. We also make sure to find our wonderful Christmas jammies to wear to bed on Christmas Eve night. We wake up early to head to Jamaican Christmas breakfast with some of our family members, then spend the rest of the day grabbing tasty goodies as we travel to visit the rest of the family. There are many other things that we find enjoyable and we are excited to build new traditions as we grow nuclear our family.

Adoption has always held a special place in my heart! I had the wonderful opportunity to have a sibling that had been adopted into my family as a small child. I loved having my sister and always vowed to bring the same happiness into my family as an adult. I would love to bring a child into my family to love and watch grow.

From Joe:
I want to adopt because I Love children. I want to guide them on the path to a successful and happy life. I know that I can provide a happy and healthy home for them to grow.
