Dear Birthmother,

First and foremost, we want to express our humble and sincere gratitude for your consideration. We are Steven and Kenny and we've been together 11 years. We met online in 2009 and instantly connected. We share common interests and have built onto each other's strengths. It is in this strength and love that we wish to start a family. We hope to raise a child in a loving, caring and fun home, while emphasizing strong ethics and helping their community. Our goal is to raise a healthy child to reach for their goals and realize their potential, supporting their dreams and providing guidance along the way.

About Us

We met online way back in 2009 and got engaged in 2011. We married in 2015 in Saint Paul, Minnesota at 100 year old James J. Hill Reference Library. Kenny loves architecture and Steven loves books, so it was the perfect venue.

Kenny was born in Indiana to a Filipino mother, who herself immigrated to the US, and a German/Scot-Irish father. Being in a military family, he moved multiple times as a child. His family eventually settled in Maryland. After high school, he decided to go to college at Hamline University in Saint Paul where both his grandfather and uncle studied. He is a Quality Engineer at a medical device manufacturing facility. He ensures the products are safe and effective for use at hospitals and clinics. Kenny enjoys all sorts of video and board games. This has been a hobby of his family for as long as he can remember; even his mother plays video games to this day!

Steven was born in Minneapolis and grew up in rural, central Minnesota. He went to a community college in Minneapolis where he studied Library Information Science. He is a Trial Case Assistant at a law firm in downtown Minneapolis. He helps paralegals and attorneys prepare for everything litigation related. Steven loves reading, has a small collection of Star Trek figurines, and takes our dogs on a daily walk on the wooded trails in our neighborhood.

Friends play an active role in our lives. Many of our friends are classmates from college. We still regularly hold cook outs and celebrate milestones, such as engagements, weddings and babies. We both love to travel! We love to travel locally to cabins in the woods of Minnesota and Wisconsin or further away to Chicago and New York City. In 2019, Steven took his first foray out of the country and we both traveled to France! We spent time in Grenoble, Nice, and Paris. We are already planning our next European adventure and hope to continue exploring the world together.

Our Home

We have a 3 bedroom house in a quiet suburb. There are three schools in walking distance from our house. We live a short walk from the dog park, tennis courts, and soccer fields. We're just a 15 minute drive to downtown Minneapolis where we can go watch a baseball game, catch a theatrical play or concert, as well as numerous museums! We love the Twin Cities for its diversity and culture.

Our Extended Family

Family is a core foundation for us. We routinely visit our family for no particular reason other than to see how they’re doing and to spend time together. We think it is very important to be there for our families when they need us. We don't judge one another and value each other's independence. Family to us is not just a holiday; it is an unspoken bond of support and love.

Kenny’s mother and father live in Maryland and we visit from time to time. It’s a trip filled with the best Filipino food and a trip to Kenny’s favorite all you can eat seafood restaurant where you’re armed with a small wooden mallet. We enjoy frequently hanging out with our brothers. Steven’s family lives in rural Minnesota. We sporadically gather for birthdays, Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Our Family Traditions

We spend time with our extended family at several key events throughout the year culminating in our 4th of July family reunion in Minnesota. We all bring food and drinks and spend the holiday outside playing games and socializing, as the kids play with water balloons and squirt guns. This reunion highlights the continuously changing composition of our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always dreamt of starting a family together. We are looking forward to raising a child as our own and bring them into a loving extended family!

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
