Dear Birthmother,

Hello, our names are Julie and Matt. We are looking forward to growing our family soon and want to thank you for considering us as adoptive parents to raise and love your child. We can't imagine how hard a decision this must be for you, but we promise to love and support your child as our own for the rest of our lives. I had a rough and traumatic labor and delivery experience with our son who is now 3 years old, and we really want to have another child. Our son very much wants a baby brother or sister to grow up with, help care for, play with and protect. That is why we are pursuing adoption.

We are also personally familiar with adoption as I have a brother who was adopted, as well as multiple other extended family members who were adopted. We again want to thank you for looking through our profile and hope that you will consider choosing us as an adoptive family for your precious little one.

About Us

We met each other in medical school in Houston, Texas. We moved to Tucson, Arizona where many of Matt's family members live, including his parents, grandparents, brother and sister-in-law and their four girls. We decided to raise our family here because we are both very family-oriented and believe it is important to have the love and support of family nearby. We are both physicians. Matt currently works full time as an Emergency Room doctor with plans to work part time in the near future. Julie was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is a part time Primary Care doctor. We enjoy spending time together as a family whenever possible. We love traveling, camping, hiking and going on outings to the zoo and around town.

Our 3 year old son Elijah is friendly, kind, curious, silly, loving, playful, smart and creative. He loves to sing, dance, read books, play, cuddle and just be a little boy. He is so excited to have a little brother or sister and talks about wanting a sibling all the time these days! We are excited for him and his future brother or sister to grow up together and for him to have the chance to be a protective older brother. Elijah was recently around a 6 month old and was mesmerized by her.

Our Home

We own a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home in a nice gated community near Saguaro National Park in Marana, Arizona (a suburb of Tucson). There are many children in our neighborhood and plenty of safe community parks, waterparks, and good schools in the area. We have a large, fenced-in backyard overlooking the mountains. In the backyard is a playset that has a house, slide, and swings (including a baby swing we can attach when ready), and a pool with a childproof fence around it.

Our Extended Family

We are both very family-oriented. We both have 2 brothers. We live in Tucson where Matt's parents, grandparents, brother and sister-in-law and their 4 girls, and many of Matt's extended family members still live. We are blessed to be able to spend time with Matt's parents in town and have them watch our son when needed. We also love to make regular play dates with Elijah's cousins, as well as with children of Matt's extended family and of our friends in town.

Julie's parents, grandfather, uncle and adopted brother all live in Texas. Julie's parents visit Tucson regularly, and we visit Texas regularly as well to spend time with them. They are always helpful watching Elijah. Playing board and card games is a beloved tradition when spending time with Julie's family.

Our Family Traditions

For Christmas, we always spend time with both sides of the family. We have a smaller gathering with Matt's immediate family and then a large, spirited gathering with his extended family on Christmas day. This year was at our house and involved around 50 people.

Then we travel to Texas to celebrate Christmas with Julie's smaller family. We feel very lucky and blessed to have been able to celebrate Christmas with both sides of the family for years now, and hope to be able to continue to do so in the future. We also travel to the beach with Julie's extended family on her mom's side every two years in the summer, which is always a fun, kid-friendly gathering.

What Led Us To Adoption

Julie had a rough and traumatic labor and delivery experience with our son who is now 3 years old, and we really want to have another child. We promise to love and support your child as our own for the rest of our lives. We are also personally familiar with adoption and know that adoption is the right option for growing our family.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
