Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time to consider us as the adoptive parents to support and love your baby. We know how serious and important of a choice you are making and we admire your courage and bravery. We hope that through our profile you will see the love we have for each other and our families. We are so honored that you are reading our story and we hope you find that we are the right family to adopt your baby. We understand that you want the best for your child and we are so excited to offer our unconditional love and welcome your child into our family and our home.

About Us

We met in 2005, on a blind date set up by Jessica’s best friend and it was love at first sight. We became instant soul mates and best friends. After 18 months of dating and getting to know each other, we married. From that day on we wanted the same things out of life, which included a wonderful home to share with family, surrounding ourselves with friends to celebrate with and building our life to share together.  In 2014, we decided to begin a new journey and move from Orlando, FL to Charlotte, NC to which we now call home.

It has always been important for us to support each other's personal and professional goals. One of the great things about us as a couple is that we have a lot in common and share the same moral values. We also support each other's interests and respect each other's differences. Together we love to travel, experimenting in the kitchen and sharing special times with our family and friends.

Now after being married for 10 years we are ready to start a family. As we considered expanding our family, we knew we wanted to adopt and are determined this is the right journey for us.

Our Home

We are grateful to have bought our house when we moved to Charlotte. We decided to build a home in a new, smaller community about 20 minutes from downtown. Our house has four bedrooms with plenty of space for a baby. We are very excited to use one of our extra bedrooms and make it into a nursery. We have a fenced back yard with plans for a small swing set or area for our child to play outdoors.

One of the main reasons we fell in love with this neighborhood is that it is very close to a beautiful park where we visit regularly as a family, taking walks and playing frisbee golf. The neighborhood is a very family friendly, diverse community with residences from all backgrounds. We have had the pleasure of making friends with several of our neighbors and we are actively involved in our community’s HOA.

Our Extended Family

We are both very fortunate to have families that love and support us and have taught us to be accepting, independent and capable individuals. Cory’s family lives in Phoenix, Arizona while Jessica’s parents live in Orlando, FL and older brother lives in Dallas, TX. We are both very close to our parents and even though we may not live near them we try and see each other regularly.

Jessica had a very close relationship with her grandmother and great aunt who helped raise her while her parents worked full time jobs. Jessica has wonderful memories of the three of them while she was younger hosting tea parties and baking holiday cookies. Unfortunately they have passed, but have helped make her into the strong, passionate, creative and caring woman she is today.

Our Family Traditions

Holidays are very important to us and over the years we have been married we have started some of our own traditions as a family.  Due to our love for traveling we enjoy spending the 4th of July with family and friends usually outdoors camping or taking trips to the mountains. Fall is our favorite time of year and each autumn we visit the local farm near our house and go pumpkin picking. Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays and we enjoy spending the day together cooking, baking and sharing our thanks from the year past.

We share a lot of the same interests including cooking, hiking through the local parks with our dog and traveling. We have shared so many wonderful memories traveling to cities all over the country as well as traveling outside of the country to parts of Mexico and Italy. We feel traveling allows us to learn about different cultures and we get to experience their traditions, customs and best of all different flavors of food.

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption was always a process we had at the forefront as we considered expanding our family. We have always felt strongly that there are so many wonderful children out in the world that need a good home, and that we would be honored to be those who could provide that love and opportunity for them.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
