Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking time to read our profile. Our names are Kevin and Denisse. We appreciate the strength and courage it takes for you to consider adoption for your child. We can't presume to know all of what you are feeling and we feel great respect for you and love for your unborn child. We know that you want the best for your baby and our wish is to be the very best parents that your baby deserves.

We are excited at the thought of becoming parents and completing our family with a child. We have both dreamed about becoming parents even before we where together. We tried for several years to get pregnant without success. Therefore, when faced with the choice of additional fertility treatments or adoption, we elected to move forward with pursuing adoption, and we know it is the best choice for us. We want nothing more than to be parents and hope through our profile you will be able to see the love that we have for each other, our families and our future child.

About Us

We met online as friends and dated long distance for a year. We fell in love and Kevin moved from Minnesota to Southern California to be closer to Denisse. Almost eight years later and the rest is history.

Kevin's family continues to live in the Midwest. Denisse has family that live close by and some across the U.S. We value our families and talk with them several times a week. Adoption has always held a special place in our family's heart, as Denisse's mom worked as an adoption social worker for the majority of her career. Denisse enjoyed helping her create memory books for the adoptive children in her mother's case load.

While we grew up in different cultures and in different areas of the U.S., we also have a lot in common. We share interests in movies, shows, games, going on walks and just being silly. We are a couple who cherish every day moments. We are very caring and affectionate. There is no shortage of hugs and kisses in our house. While going for a walk in the park, Kevin will suddenly twirl Denisse around just to get a laugh. We aren't going to win Dancing With the Stars anytime soon, but we certainly entertain ourselves!

Our Home

We live in Southern California, which is a melting pot of cultures. Our home is a two-story condo with three-bedrooms in a family-friendly community. We have started on a nursery, but we are hoping to personalize the room more once we learn the gender of the baby. Our complex has a recreation center, playhouse, gym and children's playground. Grandma also has a huge yard and indoor patio that would be a perfect playroom. One block away we have a public park that has a larger grass area and another jungle gym play area for kids. We have several schools in our area that have very good rankings. We are also investing in savings toward education for college or private school should that be a better learning opportunity.

Each Christmas our community decorates to make the season feel festive. The decorations include drenching the trees with lights and making the playhouse look like a scene from The Nutcracker. Our neighboring cities have monthly cultural events throughout the year and festivals we can go to. They are a fun way to make memories and do different things with the family.

Our Extended Family

Family is very important to us. Denisse grew up in Southern California and her family lives close. Her father was one of thirteen children and her mother is the oldest of three. So, while Denisse was an only child, she was always surrounded by cousins who felt like siblings. In fact, her best friend is her cousin Mary. Denisse is godmother to Mary's daughter, Ella. Denisse's longtime friend, Brian is usually at family events, as well.

Denisse and her mother, Nancy are like two peas in a pod. We visit each other several times a month to watch movies and have lunch or family dinner. Her mom retired after almost 30 years being a social worker, but missed helping kids so is currently a child advocate to represent children in the foster system. Her heart has always been overflowing with love for all children and especially for her family.

Kevin was born and raised in Minnesota where his older sister and the majority of his extended family still live. His parents, Gaylen and Edith temporarily relocated to Iowa for his father's work and intend to retire to an undecided "warmer" location within the next two years. Both of Kevin's parents have eight siblings each, so holidays were always major family events filled with loud homes, laughter, food, games and love. Each summer it was tradition for Kevin's family to go camping with his mother’s best friend’s family for Memorial Day, Labor Day and Fourth of July weekends at the same campground.

Our Family Traditions

We have the typical traditions most people do. We take advantage of every chance to have a barbeque in the spring and summer. Halloween is a fun time each year and a chance to be kids again. We especially enjoy Christmas as a whole family. We all tend to dress up, decorate our houses, prepare traditional American holiday foods and Puerto Rican foods. We spend the holidays making memories and savoring the chance to catch up with one another. We enjoy laughing and eating our favorite foods. We are very much looking forward to having a child to share in the holiday excitement.

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption has always held a place in our home. We both always knew and dreamed we wanted to have children, but due to pregnancy loss and infertility we had to choose between medical treatments or adoption. Adoption seemed like the natural path our hearts have led us toward. So here we are, hoping to meet you!

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
