Dear Birthmother,

We are so excited to be on this journey to find our little one. We are Chase and Alyssa. We have an 18-month-old named Jaxon, and are hoping to grow our family more. We are both court reporters. We are able to work from home, which has been a huge blessing for us.

We can't imagine how you must be feeling, so we will not try. We don't have to know you to know the amount of courage and strength it takes to give your child to another. For us, we really need you. We can't have any more children on our own. We had a miscarriage at 16 weeks our first try, and I almost died giving birth to our son. He was in the NICU for three weeks afterwards. It was traumatic and terrifying, but we learned so much as new parents in that time. It definitely strengthened our relationship as a couple and as parents.

So when we say we need you, we really mean it. You are so important to us. We hope and pray that you'll trust us to raise and love on this little one. We just want you to know that if you choose us, we will love this little baby so much. We will wrestle and play. They will travel with us. They will have a big brother to play with and create a one-of-a-kind bond. They will be loved. They will be cared for. They will know how much they are wanted.

About Us

We met in court reporting school in California. Chase grew up in California and Alyssa grew up in Nebraska. We lived in California together for about five years until COVID came. We wanted to be around fewer people, so we decided to make the move to Alyssa's hometown in Nebraska. Going from an area with close to 500,000 people to an area with about 15,000 people is very different, but we both have loved it. The small-town feel is great for us. We just recently purchased our dream home in December 2020. We are very excited about starting our new life and building our family here.

We run an online program to train students to become court reporters. We are both active court reporters, as well. Chase provides captions for the deaf and hard of hearing to bring equal access in business meetings, college classrooms, on TV or wherever a consumer may need the captions. Alyssa was an official court reporter in a courthouse in California, but she is now running our online training program full- time and does deposition work on the side.

Our son, Jaxon was born in June of 2019. He spent the first month of his life in the NICU, but you would never guess that today. He is so full of energy and playful. We can't wait for him to be a big brother.

We love traveling and going on adventures. We have traveled all over the world. Since COVID, we haven’t been able to travel that much and we are so looking forward to doing it more soon, especially with our family getting bigger!

Our Home

Our new home is in a newer neighborhood. We have one neighbor across the street from us and one neighbor next to us. Our neighbors across the street have a boy the same age as our son. There will probably be more homes built on the empty lots next to us soon. We also purchased the lot behind us so that we can have a big backyard. Our backyard is about half an acre. We plan on putting lots of grass and a big playground back there. We also live walking distance to the high school and a big park.

We have six bedrooms in our home. One is used as an office, but the others are bedrooms. We have a great nursery and toddler bedroom, both filled with a ton of toys and things for our kids to learn with.

Living in Nebraska, we get to experience all of the seasons. We get to experience spring with all of the blooming flowers. We get to experience summer with all the popsicles and swimming. We get to experience fall with all of the changing colors and falling leaves. We get to experience winter, which means snow! We will build snowmen and make snow angels and have snowball fights and warm up with hot chocolate. The memories will be endless, just like our love for this baby.

Our Extended Family

Chase’s family lives in California. His mom, dad and three brothers live there, along with his grandma and all of his extended family. We are planning on going to California a couple of times a year to be with his family.

Alyssa’s mom, dad, and brother live in Nebraska. We see Alyssa’s family multiple times a week and we are always doing something together. Her mom helps watch our son, Jaxon, when we are both working. Most of the time, only one of us is working at a time. Since we both work from home, we can kind of make our own schedules. We are always getting together for the holidays with our family.

Our Family Traditions

Alyssa has a big family. They are all very close. They enjoy meeting up often. Chase’s family is also big, but they don’t meet up as often. We enjoy spending the holidays with our families. We usually share between our two families, but since we moved to Nebraska we just split time between Alyssa’s mom and dad. They have two young boys, 6 and 7, and they love to play. They have a trampoline that is so fun. Even though it may not be the most traditional family dynamic, we have all blended very well. We all love being together and eating great food, which is a great tradition in and of itself.

What Led Us To Adoption

Since we cannot have a baby the typical way, we would love to grow our family through another avenue. We wanted to find a baby that needed a great home as much as we have wanted a baby to join the home we’ve created. Our son would love to have a sibling, just as we both have enjoyed having siblings growing up.
