Dear Birthmother,

We appreciate you considering us with the most important task of loving and raising your child. Please be assured we will provide a loving home where family is everything! We are not fond of our pictures being taken, but tried to provide a profile that would clearly give you an idea the kind of good people that we are. We sincerely desire to adopt a son into our little family, as we are no longer able to have children of our own and feel we are currently incomplete. We feel there is a child in need of us as much as we are in need of him.

About Us

We both grew up in small/medium sized towns, with lots of country to explore and friendly recognized faces everywhere you go. Work was key to the love and success of our families, with play tucked in as often as we could. Play usually consisted of camping, fishing, biking, hiking, playing outdoors by lakes and sports. The occasional road trips exploring state and national parks on longer stretches of time away from work. Our families raised us to work hard and to love and help each other in this world.

We met at our church youth singles activities. Jesse describes our meeting with memories of activities we shared and watching how Amy came to them regardless of it being a fun activity or a service night. When he called to bravely ask for a date, Amy had no idea who he was, as he had not caught her eye. She politely agreed to one date, but that one date changed her life forever. We felt so comfortable with each other, we just talked openly for hours while snow shoeing.

When we discussed the possibility of marriage, we started reading a book together, that contained questions you might ask a future spouse. One day as we read this book, Jesse proposed by stating there was a question not in the book. Then he dropped to one knee. When Amy finally realized what was happening, she of course said "Yes!"

We have two amazing daughters, Myla age 7 and Talia age 3. They play very well together, using great imagination. I often smile hearing them in the other room yelling, "Floor is lava!" and picture them jumping onto the couch. Myla is recently into hot wheels, gymnastics, reading and t-ball. Talia refuses to wear pants without tons of coaching, as she states: "Princesses wear skirts!" She loves anything pink, dancing, putting on nail polish and playing with dolls. They both agree it would be be fun and exciting to add a boy into the family. They anxiously await this addition, asking nearly daily when a brother will come.

Jesse works with wood, making and selling his projects. Amy is a nurse. We have since calmed down our extreme adventures on time off work. Our hobbies are closer to home, including drives and short hikes to waterfalls, card and board games, and of course we still save up for bigger vacations. Our favorite trips have been to Hawaii, Alaska and Oregon Coast beaches. Jesse’s parents lived in Hawaii for a few years enabling us a chance to visit the tropical paradise. We plan to save for another trip to each place again someday.

Our Home

We live in a friendly, safe and quiet neighborhood that is close to an area where refugees come from other countries to begin a new life. So, there is a lot of diversity in races, cultures and ethnicities here. Our school district has a level ‘8’ rating, on a scale 0-10 with 10 the best. Not common, meaning we live in a top public school district. There are lots of parks, one with a splash pad the girls favor, and one a block from our house. Our yard has lots of grass, a playset, sandbox (coming soon thanks to Jesse’s skills) and loads of room to spare for running and having family/friends come over. Our home is close to Amy's work and has plenty of room for an additional family member.

Our Extended Family

We love family time. We occasionally have movie or game nights, and we try to reserve Mondays for spiritual thought and activity. Our grandparents live relatively close, so we tend to get together at least once a month for a meal. All of our family, including extended family on both sides, live reasonably close to visit on a fairly frequent basis. We help each other out and are always available to listen or respond, whatever is needed. Our family offers a strong support system, teaching and growing a strong and kind generation to come.

Our Family Traditions

Holidays are always fun and memorable with our family. We typically go overboard with making life more fun. For example, this is what a typical Halloween looks like; everyone of all ages dresses up and sets up a 'silly' spook alley (due to young ages of some kids in the extended family). Games like sack races and bean bag toss are also played. The youngsters create whip cream pies with sprinkles and are allowed to pie the dads of the group. The yard is decorated with pumpkins and straw bales. The inside smells deliciously of caramel apples and pumpkin rolls. Holidays mean family time. We do our best to group workdays so that we have time to prepare activities and treats. Then we plan whose home to bombard... Grandma's is always a favorite!

What Led Us To Adoption

We have two daughters and would love a son to feel our family is complete. We are unable to have another child of our own, but know we would be able to love and care for an adopted child and provide them a fun and loving home. We have cousins, nieces/nephews, and other extended family members who were adopted so have a great support network.
