Dear Birthmother,

Hello, we would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about and consider us for your adoption plan. We understand this may be a very difficult time and the wide range of emotions you must be feeling. We applaud your love, courage and strength. You’re looking for a wonderful home and future for your child and we’re looking to share our love and lives with any child that comes into our family through the wonderful blessing of adoption.

We have always wanted to add to our family through adoption. Both our families have experienced what a blessing adoption is. Alicia has two adopted sisters and her father and his siblings were all adopted. Andrew also has two adopted cousins. Your child will be surrounded by love and understanding. Our children are excited to welcome a new brother/sister into our family. Thank you again for considering us and we would be delighted to share more about our family and learn more about you.

About Us

We are from Nebraska and have been to together for 12 years and will be celebrating our 9 year wedding anniversary this July. We met in college while working at Pizza Hut. Andrew graduated with a degree in Business Finance and Alicia graduated with a degree in Recreation Management. Andrew is the Finance and Supply Chain Director at our local hospital. Alicia is a stay-at-home-mom to our two children, Emma and Daniel. Emma is four and is a bright, bubbly, affectionate, energetic, social and talkative little girl. Daniel is fifteen months old and is constantly on the move exploring the world around him. We enjoy spending time as a family outdoors, playing games and having movie nights.

We enjoy spending time as a family outdoors, playing games and having movie nights. Andrew enjoys sports (both playing and watching), games, reading, fishing and building his own fishing lures. Alicia spends her time reading, crafting, photographing and scrapbooking.

We have both experienced the positive impact adoption can have on families. Andrew has two cousins that were adopted and Alicia’s dad, uncle and aunt were all adopted by her grandma and grandpa. Alicia’s two sisters were also adopted by her mother and stepfather.

Our Home

Our house has four bedrooms, a large open living room and kitchen area. The basement has a large open room that serves as a second living room and the kids' playroom. Our house sits in the middle of the block with a nice backyard. We have amazing neighbors that are always willing to help each other out. As we did with Emma’s and Daniel’s rooms, the baby’s room will be painted and decorated to make it special.

Our neighborhood is in an established area of town and most of the houses on our block were built in the 1950’s. We have a diverse mixture of families with young kids and retired couples. We are within walking distance of the school, two city parks, the town lake, a YMCA and the hospital.

Our Extended Family

Our families are both excited to be joining us on this journey and have been very supportive of our decision to adopt. In fact, Alicia has two adopted sisters from Vietnam and her father along with his sibling were all adopted by Alicia's grandparents. We have a long list of support, love and knowledge standing beside us. Our families are very close and enjoy spending time together. Most of us live within a three hour radius of each other. We love being close to our families.

Alicia has a rather large family consisting of three sisters, three step-sisters, one brother and one sister-in-law. Andrew has two sisters and two-brother in-laws. Our new addition would be joining ten cousins! We think watching the love the cousins have for one another is one of the best joys. We just know the new baby will be loved and welcomed into this amazing cousin bond.

Our Family Traditions

Holidays hold a special place in our hearts. We love gathering with family and friends. We love any holiday we get to spend with family, but our favorites are Halloween and Christmas. Halloween has always been Alicia’s favorite and loves to have us dress up as a family. During Christmas, we have a long standing tradition of spending Christmas Eve at Alicia’s side. We eat, attend church, eat again, open presents and play games.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always talked about adding to our family via adoption even before we were married. We want to provide a family, love and comfort to a child. We are so looking forward to growing our family through adoption. Our adopted child will be an enormous blessing to us and will be loved as such. Both of our families include adopted family members, so we know firsthand how great adoption is and we want to continue that legacy for our family.

I adopted our son as a newborn after going through 12 years of infertility. Now, 23 years later, I am director at Everlasting Adoptions. Shortly after adopting our son, I started to feel a calling towards adoption. My career as a Human Resource Manager in Corporate America came to an end, and I entered what I now know is my purpose and passion in life — building families through the miracle of adoption.

Working with birthmothers and adoptive parents throughout the US for over 20 years has allowed me to utilize the skills I have been blessed with to serve others. I come to work every day not as a staff member coming to a job from 9 to 5, but as a person who is extremely dedicated and devoted to helping people like you every single day. I feel very blessed to have found my purpose, and I look forward to helping you with your adoption needs!
